Yep yep.. I did. Not wit my car.. I had my bro's Celica GT out. Everyone says this car is "only" 140HP.. I'm telling you, there is more lurking. It's stick.. but I didn't even have to drop the clutch. And the other guy was no fluke either.. I mean, he had an auto, so no excuses for bad driving. Just stomp and go. Beat it by 1/2 car length.. and I had another 190lb person with me. Raced total of 4 times... all same results, except the one time I mis-shifted and grinded

Grand Prix is supposed to do 0-60mph in 7.6s.... Celica GTs are definitely underrated.

I hate & love the Celica... it's a little too sporty for my taste.

But for f***ing around, it is amazing. It's so sharp.. it's lowered with TRD springs right now. Handles sooooo wicked.. I have 17" rims, and lowering springs on my Civic, but it can't even come CLOSE to it. The chassis the stiffest I've ever seen on any stock car. Extremely quick steering response.. immense roadholding.

He's waiting for a blower right now. GTS's powerband is too peaky.. but a GT with supercharger should be awesome. Nice low to midrange grunt.. it's already nice as it is. Kicks in hard after 2,500rpm all the way to redline. No dip in powerband.. but a supercharger would be just awesome.

Naw man, I drove the RSX-S... it's soft compared to Celica. Believe it or not... drving one after another, the RSX seems to have chassis flex and leans a lot!

(and then I got into my car... felt like a caddy)

Try an Audi A4 if you like a stiff chassis...

GTS lacks so much low end power, it's not even funny...

When my brother worked at Toyota dealership, a bunch of sales guys there decided to have a private drag show one evening... Celica GT (auto) vs Celica GTS (auto) vs Toyota 4Runner (3.4L V6, auto)...

What would've been the fastest car if it was stick, GTS came in dead last.. it was behind the 4Runnre by 4 car lengths!! And behind its GT sibbling by almost 6 car lengths.. that car doesn't go in auto. Gotta get a stick and drive it like you stole it to make power. Yet a lot of FOBS get the auto GTS After this show, now I understand why Acura doesn't make automatic RSX Type-S... no point. It's also a high compression, high RPM car.. nothing at the bottom.
