I did custom exhuast at Midas last summer...they told me that I don't have to worry about the exhuast anymore cuz its stainless steel and they did "good weld"...anyway...its bad...really bad...
damn...don't wanna explain it...just wait for APRboy upload the pics and you guys will understand...
EDIT: Special Thanks to Bruno, Owen and Steve!!! They help me a lot for the entire night...finding tools, jacking up my car, pulling out the exhuast and wait for the tow truck with cold weather...etc...1000s "thank you" to you three!
EDIT again: found to be my random technology cat got broken off...

Oh yeah, Steve, i forgot his name. Good guy! Post up what happened at Midas Macfay. Hope your rental car doesn't give you any problems. I'll post up some nicer pics before this whole mess started in the London Peeps section.

damn...Midas told me that its not the weld they made broke off, it was actually the original connection between the inlet and the cat got broken off...at least this is what I've been told.
I will go to Midas on Monday and find out the truth as I'm in Toronto right now.
I also call and email Random Technology to see about the warrenty thing on their cat. But since there was an alternation on the original pipe(which I cut and extended their pipe to avoid the rubbing against the front sway bar), I'm not sure if I can still claim warrenty on it...damn...
I hope everything goes fine...

actually...I took some pics before heading to toronto...and I just zoom into the photos and found out that Midas didn't lie to me...
the section which they cut and weld was further away from the cat...therefore, the section which broke off was the weld that random technology did, so i think its the manufacture defect...
I will take more pics on Monday morning and find out the truth...

Any modifications you made to your car besides exhaust? Looks like the cat got so hot that it caused failure of the welded joint, that would be my guess. Cats usually don't get extremely hot (ie normal op temp is usually around 2500 degrees) unless you are running pretty rich, which sometimes allows gas to burn up in the cat, causing problems....I know running SF's kit will cause you to run rich - just curious....

Ummm, that's how a cat works - it uses a platinum catylist. When it heats up (via the exhaust gases passing through it) - the catylist than starts to convert the NOx and other gases. This causes it to get hotter, up to around 2500 degrees....If there is too much gasoline vapor in your exhaust, it will get hotter, and cause cracking and failure.

I took this pics while my car is in the air...
I called up Random Technology and they told me to ship the damaged cat to them and they will determine if I can claim warrenty on it...but I have to pay the shipping...
