If I can't find any 5w20 valvoline, I'm going to go with castrol.

Valvoline doesn't make a synthetic 5w20. I went to a Valvoline store and they said they had sythentic blend, but I never saw the bottle. I know oil is oil, but Honda recomeneds sythectic blend. I thought, oil is oil too and put regulaur oil in, and it came out black. I tried a bunch of different types and they all came out black, the royal purple (a full synthectic oil) is the only one that wasn't comletely black. I know that regualar oil breaks down faster than sythetic, so perhaps our cars run hotter than normal and need an oil that can with stand the hotter temps. FYI, my oil only goes 2,500 miles between changes.

I don't want to go synthetic. I used to do oil changes and tires, and I've seen the difference in the oil.
I'm not trying to make my car a race car, but I want to put in some decent oil. If I wanted a fast car, I would have bought one.
I'm going change my oil every 4K.

I run Mobil1 5W30 Synthetic. Works great.

Redline Makes 5w-20 in street synthetic. Call their office in norCal and they'll fedex you a case for 7.75 a quart. Was way cool to have the fedex guy show up at my house and hand me a case of oil. It was funny as hell to me for whatever reason.

True Dat, but you get what you pay for. Redline has about as much Moly in it as the OEM honda stuff they fill from factory with, plus its fully syn. You also are dealing with a family run business and not a huge corporation.
Also, see one of my other posts about not crapping out on the filter. get a GOOD oil filter! FRAM sucks ****. Go with Mobil 1 or K&N... the former has teh best filtration, the latter the best flow / pressure.
for oil questions, I've always found that http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ rules.
