Mucho props to Grey for his detailed DIY. The instructions he posted turned the job from a full afternoon (I'm a moron) to just an hour (kept remeasuring, broke a couple screws)

I dunno about you guys, but I have an OEM spoiler, and people get scared when I pop the trunk beacuse it flies open and smacks the top of the truck opening, and then bounces a couple times...

Dude, name the time and the place, and I will hook you up. Check Grey's DIY for the necessary parts (don't bother with the screws or tap though, I have those). Just gotta have a 14.4V (minimum) cordless drill, screwdriver, and a ratchet set (those screws are a biznatch).

Why? It looks the same and you can't see the shocks. the first two pics are with the trunk open and shocks extended.

And yes it opens up all the way to the bumpstops.

I've got the OEM spoiler on my EL, but I find the trunk only pops up a little when I open it, not almost all the way open like the spoiler-less ELs I have seen.

BTW, nice work Will.

the shocks have different pressure for different weights right?...
my new trunk is going to be a lot lighter than the stock
so i don't wanna get something too strong and damage the trunk lid

CF trunk eh? I'd prolly go with 40lbs at absolute most then....my 70's crank that sucker all the way up even with the weight of the B-Quiet on the inside of the lid.
