Dude, seriously I never really push my car hard. I changed around fall last year, so the summer benefits are yet to be determined, but I'll tell ya, winter starts were quick and easy, and my poor little Single Overhead Hamster Cam didn't complain one bit rolling after 1 minute of warmup time, whereas the winter before, on dino oil, I was cringing at the sound of revving on my cold engine.
Now that it's started to warm up a LITTLE bit, I'll testify that the engine runs SUPER smooth, idle is no different of course. When I was on dino oil, I would change at the Honda manual intervals and would immediately notice a gain...like I was getting used to the slow deterioration of performance on dirty oil. But this will be my 3rd Motul change (still at factory intervals, I'm a pu55y like that) and between changes, the engine ran the exact same - silky smooth. I'm over by 400k though, so I better get my *** in gear and do the change. My supplier tells me I can go up to 10K before changing, but I'm not about to test that theory. I figure I'm paying for better performance and protection, not increased engine life.
Did this answer your question? Probably not. But..um...Motul rocks.

for the GTI's oil, the bottle said 2 years/40,000km but i am being nice and do it every 15,000km
