For those runnin on steelies

For those runnin on steelies ...or people that know...

On the back wheels in the very center of the wheel there is a copper colour peice that sits in the centre of the wheel. I think it is called a dust cap. Prolly about 2 inch diameter.

I have no such cap on the front. I called honda about it and they said the front doesn't have em. I am not totally sure we were talking about the same thing. I want to find out for sure though before winter (salt and sand).

Thanx

Yep, its true like they all said.

Mine isn't rusty yet, it's a 2003. But I'm pretty sure after this winter it will start, so I decided to powdercoat my Honda hubcaps with a flat black finish.

I miss my Rotas. Can't wait till winter is over.

Powdercoat?

You mean spraypaint your hubcaps right???

And yes, I'm just like Telly.... Covered on the back, open on the front. Fronts asre rusty as hell

I had a helluva time just pulling off the rims in the rear when I was swapping my rims for the winter steelies... they were so rusted on, I kept pulling and pulling, I was focking SCARED to **** that the whole car would fall over! (I was using emergency jack).... Finally had a friend's dad just knock on the wheel with his palm a few times, and they came off....

I took off my 18's about a month ago when we had a good little snow storm up here in Barrie. I am now using the stock Civic Sport 5 star alloys as my Winter set. The only thing that sucks for me is that I cant fit my center caps on cause the stock lug nuts from my old steelies sit up to high. I too noticed the dust caps aren't on the front wheels. Plus I cant get rid of my vibration problems...oh well at least the girls like going for rides in my car. haha. All I need now is leather seats. lol

smokedcivic has a little shameless behaviour in the past
the front ones aren't supposed to have them, i don't know why but they just don't. every car that i have worked on for the civics or EL's never had them on so.. i think they should but i guess its easier for guys like me to work on the drive shafts or cv boots.
