But where could we park a bunch of cars at your place? That driveway area might hold 4, but beyond that if any of your neighbors want to get out, we'll have to play musical cars.

Re: Rob's Birthday Party
There are spots all over. There are spots for two cars on the end and there's a lot right on the side. Either way, I do need to pull my engine that weekend....

Re: Rob's Birthday Party
If the car is in GT4, then yeah, you can drive it on playstation.
If we're going to do a tech day, then post up what you need done, lets get a list going here.
So far it looks like we've got 6 people...
The only thing I might need to do is put my new tail lights on the audi, assuming they get here by then. The civic needs major work, and I dont feel like doing it yet.

Re: Rob's Birthday Party
Here is what I need:
1. stick on Gerry's new jdmFabtech! manifold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. stick on a new front lip if it get's here in time
3. put in a new berring in my transmission but that means pulling the engine and if i do that then I got a new timing belt to throw on to at the same time.
4. stick in ducting for front brakes
5. wire up my wideband gauge to the ELD pin on my K-pro
7. possibly stick in oil cooler if justin feels like diging it out but I think lines need to be made for it and I don't have any lines right the moment
there could be more but I don't think so I think I thought of everything that needs to be done to my car

Re: Rob's Birthday Party
Hell yeah, bring the hoist. Do you have a chain, too? Do me a favor and make 100% sure you can come and bring it though, I'm working towards a deadline and I have to get the engine out that weekend and don't want to be searching for a hoist last minute, ya know?
All I plan to do is pull the engine, altogether, that'll take maybe 3 or 4 hours if I have a hand.

Re: Rob's Birthday Party/ Tech Day #1
Ok I just checked everything I am now 100% sure I can make it!
I can definitely bring out the hoist I also do have chains and an engine balancer (it's not the best balancer in the world but it's done like 10 engines and it works really good for me) only thing you need to provide is the bolts to hold the engine to the chains. Actually I think I still have my chains setup from the last time I pulled my engine so you might not need the bolts but grab them just in case
I understand what it means to work to a deadline so I promise I got your back on this one.
Ummm I don't know about pulling turbo kits but I can get my engine out in about 1hr 45mins to 2hrs and 15
also do you have an air compressor?

Re: Rob's Birthday Party/ Tech Day #1
You dont need bolts.... If the chain links are big enough, you just use the engine mount studs next to the cam gear with the corresponding nuts (you need washers) and you use the tranny mount studs. Piece of cake.
Re: Rob's Birthday Party/ Tech Day #1
Cool man, nah, no compressor. Unless everyone wants to ship in 20 bucks and we can get one from sears
On the serious note, Rob and Justin know they're welcome to use my garage any time. That pretty much goes for everyone else. If you have work you need to do and nowhere to do it, hit me up and we'll work it out.
Only thing I'm going to ask from everyone is to stay organized. I don't have a problem letting people use my tools but I always end up with less than I started with. All of my tool sets are pretty much complete and I want to see them that way when everyone leaves.
Everyone who plans to come, send me an email with your forum username, real name and a phone number and I'll send you my address with stupid easy directions and my phone number.
Email to andyman79@gmail.com
Also, as next weekend draws nearer, I'll be keeping an eye out for the weather and if it gets really cold, I'll pick up a space heater.

I don't like using the engine mount studs cause through previous experience I have noticed that chains sometimes like to twist or bind and I'm afraid that it might mash the threads on the studs, which would really suck when putting everything back together. If you use the brackets it also allows you to hook up the mounts while you still have the engine floating on the lift

Re: Rob's Birthday Party/ Tech Day #1
I have my KPro coming in for my k20.....could anyone help me street tune my A/F, knock, etc. with the KPro during this meet?? I know Justin, and Andy are running KPro I belive, so maybe if they have time, I could get some help. I will be a noob to the KPro world except for reading through some tuning threads. I just want to street tune it so that I can minimize engine damage and still drive the car. Then once I purchase my RH and redo my exhaust, then Ill dyno tune it. ANY TAKERS?? lol....
Re: Rob's Birthday Party/ Tech Day #1
We aren't tuners but we know our way around kpro a little bit. Are you boosted? If not, there are a grip of maps you can use to get you going that will hold out fine for you until you get tuned.
Re: Rob's Birthday Party/ Tech Day #1
No boost. CAI, IMG, 2.5" exhaust, and plan to be doing a RH and cams in the near future. I read about the calibrations that are provided but my understanding was that once one of those is loaded, I need to datalog and tune out any knocking that may occur, and adjust my A/F, ignition, etc. Is this something you guys are familiar doing?? I wanna drive my car without a dyno tune, but dont want to cause any unecessary damage to my engine.

Re: Rob's Birthday Party/ Tech Day #1
I can try.... but you gotta realize that none of us will have any experience dialing in VTC. I would think you gotta be running pretty close to a calibration file, but we can take a look at it.

Re: Rob's Birthday Party/ Tech Day #1
those base maps that are provided by hondata are meant to get you to the dyno. you shouldn't get any knocking from the base maps though.
The biggest problem people run into with the base maps is usually when they go turbo and as soon as the turbo goes on they want to floor it when the original base map was designed to just get it to the dyno, so they end up breaking something.
The N/A base maps are pretty good especially if you are just running a CAI and exhaust you should be able to get around town without any problem just don't push it as hard as possible.
I was on a stock base map for about 2 months with out any problems. Your car should run fine on the stock base map. If you do come up I can probably help out a little with your map but I can't promise anything. My car ran good on the base map but it really made a difference once I got it on the dyno it idled a lot smoother

Re: Rob's Birthday Party/ Tech Day #1
OK, I was told that if I loaded a map, like the CAI map, and then make sure it isnt knocking and that my A/F looks good, then I should be OK until I get to the dyno, as long as I dont pound on it. I didnt think I needed to mess with VTC for a temporary street tune though.
Re: Rob's Birthday Party/ Tech Day #1
We can pull a few degrees of timing out, but if you're running closed loop with obdII, it will retard your timing and adjust your fuel accordingly, you just won't make that much power....
