Its faster but not worth the money. Should've just bought a manual in the first place. I mean it makes a big difference I think, but modifying it is too much of a hassle and money.

The manual is faster and better due to being able to shift at higher rpms and downshifting when needed.

I have the standard, I've driven the auto for several days (loaner car during warranty repairs), and I'll tell you now the standard will run circles around the auto. The auto is tuned for WAAAY too smooth shifts, you lose so much power it's disgusting. Felt like I was driving.....****, I haven't driven much that was slower than the auto.

edit: typos

The auto is slower because of the Parasitic effect of the Touque converter, and the longer gears. not because of the shifts. In an automatic car, the transmission is not directly connected to the engine, unlike a Manual transmission where the clutch actually presses aginst the fly wheel. so, you loose power through the Tourque converter. with longer gearing, it take longer to get the engine in to its power band, thus accelerates slower then the Manual with shorter gearing.

yeah, i've got an 01 ex manual, and i' also drove a loaner automatic, it was like two different cars, granted neither one will throw you in your seat, but the automatic was a dog compared to my stick
