My local Acura dealer has a used Type R on his lot. I noticed it while driving by a couple days ago and went tonight to have a look around. It appears to be blemish free from my quick walk-around.
I've been looking at maybe getting a new car and I've naturally always enjoyed the Type R's. I don't want to overspend on the car (who does?), I don't see the point in blowing my budget just to get a Type R. So my question is - How much should I offer the dealer?
Being uninformed on what Type R's are going for these days, I'd really be grateful for some help. Also, on a side note, whatwas the MSRP new? Any ideas?
The details of the car are as follows -
2001 Yellow Integra Type R
Certified
26,000 miles
Thank you everyone.

I've heard nothing but bad things about them and have had a bad experience there also. However, it is a low mileage Type R which is pretty rare and it's certified. They may very well ask for my first born and my left arm for the car, in which case I'm movin' on.

I have seen them used at a dealer for around $25,000. Did you go into the dealer and ask what they are asking for it? That would be your best bet. Look on www.kbb.com or www.edmunds.com to see what that car is worth. Also Dont forget about Insurance....The cost per month on that car has to be insane.

I checked kbb and edmunds and they listed as valued between $18k and $20k. They also listed certified 2000 GS-R's at $17k but all the dealers in my area are selling certified GS-R's for $2000 less. So I don't know how much stock to put into their prices.

The dealer asking price for the car is $21,900. Is this a fair price for a 2001? It's also certified.
I made an appointment to test-drive it and talk price for Saturday.
