! Then you could punch it when you need to and have all 6 cylinders. Basically you'd have the best of both worlds.
GM 1st tried this a long time back, but it didn't work very well. The idea's not original.
It's good to see it come back, imagine a pratical Bugatti EB112 A quad trubo v- 16, running on 4 cylinders, when cruising (saving a TON of gas!!)

GMC will start to use D-O-D systems on their large trucks and SUVs in either 2004 or early 2005. Which is ncie to hear when you consider the gas those monsters eat.
