dumb clutch & rev limit questions

Hey, I have a couple of questions that i'm sure you guys can answer:

Where does the rev limiter kick in on the '02 EX? At red line, or after?

If your screwin around and hit the rev limiter while in neutral, is it worse than if you hit it while in gear? (being that there's no load on the engine in neutral..)

If you dump the clutch @ 4-5k rpm on a gravel road, does it do any less clutch wear and/or drivetrain stress than if you do it on pavement?

thanks.. i told ya they were dumb

I beleive the rev limiter is at 7K RPMS, i've hit mine once

As far as hitting the rev Limiter in gear, or in neutral, it could go 2 ways
1: Hitting it in neutral means that the RPMS are gaining quicker, so it could potentially rev a little past the Rev limiter, which could cause damage
2: Hitting it in gear means the engine has momentum behind it preventing it from backing off the rev's as fast, meaning it's at a higher rev for longer, but not as high as hitting it in neutral.
For which one does more damage, I'd think that it's probably about the same, though you really have to screw up to hit the rev limiter while your in gear. Now if your going downhill and you hit the revlimiter in gear, that could F-up your car provided the slope was steep enough.

If you dump the clutch on gravel, the wear will be less, if the wheels start spinning at the same speed as the engine, keep in mind the clutch can only wear when it's not traveling the same speed as the flywheel.

I hope that helps

So let me get this straight. Its bad to hit the rev limiter. I have, and often do. My rev lim kicks in at around 7100 too.
