Question Shifting

I have a 2003 Civic EX 5-speed coupe. I know this must sound like a stupid question but what is the "proper" way to power shift. Slam the clutch slam the gear and leave your foot on the gas the whole time? I'm not trying to race my civic because i know theres no shoot in hell of me beating anyone worth while. Just in general question to get better shift times.

That suonds good, except that isnt a good idea for 2 reasons (that I know of).... I think you get better response if you lift the throttle a little bit, also our tansmission dont react that fast anyway. I'm not sure if that will break anything in the long run either.

Yea, that's great if you want to tear up the car as fast as possible. Lift your foot off the gas when shifting.

DON'T DO IT!!!

you'll have to replace your clutch in like a month or two if you keep doing that...
