the funny thing is...these civic guys must be thinking, "what?? 15.8 isnt slow!!!" hahahaha

jodster- please educate yourself before talking. intake does NOTHING for the wrx. muffler does NOTHING for the wrx. wires? wtf? thats supposed to give more hp now? im actually suprised they got that much power out of those mods. uppipe, downpipe and blah blah blah blah........ but honda has yet to provide a competitor to the wrx/STi in my mind as far as price/performance goes...
No, Honda doesn't make a car that matches that kinda price and performance. But keep in mind 2 things.... 1) honda doesn't make an AWD production car, much less a turbo'd one. 2) even the WRX with it's 2.0 liter 4 cylinder with turbo, honda got more out of the same sized engine and NATURALLY ASPIRATED.

And we all know the endless and cheap mod potential of a turbo. You're preaching to the wrong choir. I'm sure there's a thread somewhere on clubwrx that says "look at all the stupid civic owners", but regardless, we do know more than you think.
honda doesnt make any AWD production cars? how about the crv? the element? the integra in japan? the vtm-4 system in the mdx and pilot is considered AWD. you mean PERFORMANCE AWD car? ok then.

yes im aware honda makes reliable everyday commuter cars. thats not the point here. some people in the thread are talking about the wrx when they dont know what theyre talking about. this is not meant to be a flame war. i am aware that honda makes different cars tailored to a different crowd. i didnt meant to offend anyone when saying that honda doesnt have anything comprable to the STi. fact of the matter is that they dont. the tsx is the closest thing to size/price...and for now, its only got 200hp. i know my hondas. ive been a vtec.net guy for probably 6 years now. I PERSONALLY need one car all year round in 4 seasons. if i could get another car, the next car would definately be a honda. either an element or an s2k...depending on what the STi would then be .

trust me. i have the BM s2k special vid. and ive watched it over and over. i love hondas engineering...i just wish they would be a little more ballsy in what they bring over here (at least a type R or 2 please?)...give us more power and less "green." more sport and less blandness. and as much as all of you proclaim allegiance to the almighty honda, deep down you wish the same thing too.

I'm usually a numbers guy, but in this case go drive a WRX. For the money, slow isn't one of the words that pops into my mind.

Ummm.. torque? Powerband?
Have you seen my video where I race a WRX from a 10-15mph roll? I pull from the entire time. Yet the WRX is supposed to have better torque down low? It's because of the S2000's gearing. So yes, even the torqueless S2k will pull on a WRX from a 10mph roll. (it doesn't hit VTEC til about 30mph)

AWD and activated 4WD are 2 different things. NONE of those cars you mentioned has AWD ALL THE TIME. Completely different. And I understand your intent about coming here to educate on the WRX... just try to be a little less condescending about it and your point will be much better taken. And I know you keep mentioning "honda makes nothing that can compete with the WRX". Well Subaru makes nothing that can compete with the S2000. Unless there's a mysterious roadster subaru makes that I don't know about.

Its going to have somethin around 300 hp and 300 tq, and will be running a 13.4 for a little above 30 g's? I still think the WRX (even if its not the STi) puts out the best perfomance for the money... I just wish it looked a little different... Just my opinion
Actually people would now say that the Neon SRT 4 puts out the best bang for buck. But the WRX offers AWD while the Neon has to suffer with FWD. Either way, today's choice of cheap cars that are fast is much better than what it was 4 or 5 years ago.

ah yes you would. you put the front wheels on the dyno and drop the rear drive shaft... why? CUZ ITS NOT AWD! How many times do I have to tell you that?

and for the last time, AWD AND real time 4WD are TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS!

the 4 wheel dyno isnt really common as two wheel dynos, i seen a shop jack up a wrx in the front and layed the back wheels on the dyno, although hp is lost in the transfer of hp to the rear, in most awd(such as wrx) when high rpm is QUICKLY reached, most of the power goes to the rear wheels and less goes to the front, getting better numbers. thats why awd cars are both good drifting and rallying.

i have a feeling they tested their wrx on an awd dyno dynamics dyno because they give "less hp and torque" than if the wrx was put on an awd dynojet dyno...

reading most of the shizzit on the clubwrx site, some guys tell it how it is, especially that one paladan or whatever his name was. he basically said it all right there. some of the others keep on talking about how a wrx will beat our civic and keep on comparing but it's ridiculous. that's just as bad as them comparing their wrx to a 360 modena, stock vs. stock. it makes no sense, those 7th gen owners that think our car is fast are idiots and some of the wrx owners on that site are idiots for trying to compare our car with theirs

edit: and cook32 is getting own3d by knightrider right now for his dumbass statements, good to know some of the scooby owners on that site know what they're talking about.

The WRX with just its stock boost control disabled (note, not talking MORE boost, just more of the stock boost available sooner) makes a world of difference in the otherwise stock car.

As for S2000man pulling a stock WRX down low... I believe it having gone from an S2K to the WRX. The difference is if you have both cars around 3krpm, the torque of the WRX is more readily available. And like I said about the stock boost control above, its a night and day difference. But, it would not be a stock WRX anymore

Stock boost is 13.5-14.5psi...

The WRX is a fun car, but honestly my Civic is better put together and the materials are nicer. But if you want something that goes in ALL weather, the WRX is hard to beat. And if you live at altitude, the WRX is even nicer...
