And yes my windows and doors are closed
I do live in Michigan and as you know it does get pretty cold but i should i be getting frost???

Outside is normal... if it fogs up when you get back in... its because you are breathing on the windows and it's fogging them up... if theres actually crystals on the inside of the windows... I dunno. I've never heard that, but there would have to be some water in the air in the car to cause that. Try running the A/C so the dehumidifier kicks some of the moisture out.

i had that happen to me last night
its just cause i was in the car for about 10 minutes with just the heat on (not the A/C)... then got out
we have nice subzero temps here in london (prolly about as far north as you are if you're in detroit) so the moisture from my breath or whatever just froze up on the windows
it wasnt that bad tho.. just a little around the edges

our cars use the a/c automatically when you use defrost.

As far as the frost goes. I had that very same problem in my 93'Vic. Let me ask you 2 questions. Did you 1 either have it on the recirculating air/not taken from outside mode or 2 have alot of people in your vehicle before your last trip. Both things cause the same problem. Moisture inside the vehicle. Many people is obvious because they all breath and give off moisture, but the 1st one is where i made my mistake.
I thought the air was a little warmer on the recirculating function but i didnt think about the fact that it also recirculates the moisture that you give off in your breath. Later that day after work. I scraped off my outside windows and the frost on the inside was so bad that i couldnt see AT ALL. Since that was the first time i tried the recirculating option i put 2 and 2 together and got 73. and there you have it.
Hope that helps

ohiojosh78 i think your right.....it probably was because of the amount of people that i had in the car....i drive 3-4 people home from school everyday so im pretty sure thats the reason
