HAHA! You all thought this was a noob thread....
No, actually I'm trying to find out if anyone knows of a magazine article or something where someone swapped a VG30DE or VG30DETT from a 300ZX into a Maxima. Don't give me the FWD and RWD junk... I know. The reason I ask.... 89-93 Maxima SE's had VG30's in them, and all of the 94-99's had them. The DE version packed more punch, and obviously, the we all know what twin turbos do. Now... Being that they're the same engine.... Swapping the tranny shouldn't be all too difficult. The bell housing should be relatively close since they would bolt into the same place... the only difference is drive shaft vs. the transaxle. As far as the mounting points go... I don't know. That's why I'm looking for info. I've got quite a few unknowns that I'm wondering about. So if anyone has ever heard of it being done and knows where I can find stuff about it, say so... because I'm curious to know. I haven't been able to come up with much in the way of info... but some of you have been into this way longer than I have.

dragoon is an unknown quantity at this point
The 89-91 Maxima SE and the 89-94 Maxima GXE's had the SOHC version of the VG30.
In 92-94, the Maxima SE had the VE30 DOHC motor that had variable intake runners and timing control.

The 95-2001 Maximas have the VQ30DE engine, which is DOHC, and the 2002+ Maximas have the VQ35DE.

To swap a DOHC VG motor into the older Maximas would require a bit of work, especially on the 92-94 SE, since they had similar, but not exactly the same configurations. And it has been done, I'm sure a site like maxima.org would provide better resources.
