Rep Power: 0 Question About My Sister's Volvo
My sister has a Volvo s40.. decent car. When you start the car it idles at 750 rpms then drop sto 500 and then shuts off. In order to drive the car you need to rev it in Neutral and then pop it tinto gear. After driving it throught out the day the problem dissapears. Except the wheel trembles and shakes alot. Should she get a tune up? Or you think the problem is something else?

Rep Power: 0 My parents just turned in their Volvo v70 wagon. It actually had the same starting problem as you: when we turned the ignition on it would idle for about a second then shut off and we would have to give it some gas to keep it running...thats probably just cuz it went through alot of stuff maintenance wise in the past 5 years we've had it.
The shaking might be coming from the control arms or the control arm bushings or you need to get the tires balanced. After I got new tires for the rear and rotated them to the front, we got them balanced and the shaking went away. Now it shakes alittle bit again at around...90-95 but it's most likely the control arms/bushings.
