Well, truthfully, I have really loved my volkswagens......86GTI....94Jetta......they handled great......and loved they way they drive.........but They broke down WAaaaaaay too much.........alot of my freinds and family have owned new ones.....and older......they seem to have the same problem......
Personally, from my experience...I will sadly never own another VW.....
The RSX-s.....drove it and fell in love.......
but if I were in your shoes.......I'd wait and get the srt-r..for under 20,000.....14.2 1/4.......
I'd give dodge 1 chance......and that it........

Platt's right, i don't think the VR6 is chip-able.......................however the 1.8t has several chips, one takes you up to 240 hp(not my figures but everyone concurs w/it on the vortex forums), also the chips are only like $500!! Dayum I wish they had that for our POS civics.......
Go w/the 1.8t, you'll be happy, being able to switch from the standard 180 hp on the stock 1.8t to 240hp(via the CC buttons) is a great thing.

GTi. but look into a new 1.8t. it isnt as fast (170 hp) but many more mods and the turbos are great in those VWs. Vws are just a better car inside and out then the rsx.
Dude go for the GTI VR6 I've seen one in a mag that produces over 600 hp it was in a golf I believe, but yeah the VR6 is an awsome engine, german engineering man! my friend has a 4 dr jetta VR6 2000 or newer i'm not sure but that thing hauls *** on the highway and there was four of us in the car and its an automatic fwd. you can get all wheel drive on them as well its called 4-motion
there is also the new golf VR6 2dr all wheel drive 6 speed manual 237 hp I'm not sure how much it is though but its fast.
