Should I trade an 01 LX for an 03 EX?

I've read that some of the bugs that were in the '01s have been eliminated in the 02s and 03s although I do not have any major bugs concerning the car, mostly just some annoyances. I bought the LX since it seemed to have everything that anyone would need in a Civic, but now that I am a student of the Civic, some of the features of the EX are intriguing to me. So maybe next fall get an EX? Or perhaps just wait another year for an RSX, and I could pull up at my high school reunion in it.

Why not wait until it's paid-off and then you could get your RSX with a much smaller payment...

are you going for power or looks? cuz if it's power, i'd say pick the RSX... then again, the RSX has both power and looks..

I dunno. Actually, the Civic seems be able to make some quick moves, but it doesn't seem to have a lot of passing power on the highway when you need it.

There is the Accord Coupe to consider too, but will they be worth the money.

I was thinking of selling mine and getting the last model year of the 7th gen (when it comes out). Although with the really really llow bluebook values for our cars I'm kinda not tempted to do it anymore. I don't want to loose so much money and still only get a civic. I'll probably keep my car for a long long time (at least another 5 years). Then I might get something higher up on the food chain. Like the new Supra when it comes out. Oh yeah!

you hit the nail on the head, people always want what they don't have and much too often they become too vocal about it for others who like their cars

Take it easy man, I dont think many people are complaining all that much, they just wish they were as advanced and more useful like the previous gens. The import car scence is addictive, always wanting more, more power, more features, more looks, ect ......
In the end we are all here for the same reason, and that is because we all have the same cars and want to enjoy them with others.

rackness is right....think about the previous civic and other cars...people that owned those cars i bet you thought it was a piece of Sh*t..but looked what happend now....it takes time to develope part that actually perform well and not for looks...it just takes time..look at the last generation accords....it took almost 3 years before they got a supercharger..look at it now..we're coming up also..Hasport mad the K20 swap simple as hell now...look back then when we all said we could never fit the k20 into the our EM's...just a thought....don't flame!!

You'd be outta your mind to trade a 7thgen civic for another 7thgencivic. They're still better than the domestics but no where near the typical honda car...

Get something else....7thgen civic value is barely more than civics from the 6th gen...

I'd go for a late model gsr or a 99-00 civic si....

Humm well I would wait till the earliest 3 years then after that do it since 3 years is a good time frame to trade your car in. I will keep mine more then 3 years then get maybe a Accord Coupe dunno yet all depends on my career field

Every comment on this forum makes me think... why do you all have a Civic in the first place?

I purchased a Civic because it was the most well rounded car in price range.

If you want power, don't go for Civic... don't buy a Civic and start complaining.

Sure RSX-S has more power, but then again, the price is a bit different. Looks.. that's totally opinion.

If power's not a factor and you want something around $16k, I would recommend a Civic or Corolla.

This would be just like purchasing a minivan. As another choice, maybe he should consider buying a Pontiac Montana.

If that is true then for me Honda has a problem, because the Civic was always supposed to be the impeccable compact car, the heart and soul of Honda. Now they seem to be more focused on the Accord. But in my case, being a first time Honda buyer, I decided to start out with a Civic. If my owning experience doesn't reflect this reputation for the Civic, then why should I move up to an Accord or an Acura. I mean does Honda expect that people will start out with Civics, get burnt, and then move up to other Hondas considering this legendary status that surrounds the Civic. I thought that the Civic was supposed to be the typical Honda car. At least that's the hype. And the hype is wearing off, and that's why the Civic's sales are slowing down, especially to the Corolla.

But this is maybe for another post. The one about whether Honda should expedite the 8th gen Civic, before they lose this car altogether.

Thanks for your insights, always interesting.
