Quote: celica gts destroys a type s im sure a gti 1.8t would make short work of the type s also.

in fact with boltons best type s run ive heard was 15.1, which is pathetic.
Please don't bring that up. How would you know as a fact that a GTS WILL beat/destroys RSX-S. They are both great cars. It is just a driver race. Lets still in topice

I would have got the GTi, funny cause I am getting one . Where else can you get these HP and Torque gains for $499.

1) APR CHIP 06A 906 032 DL (91 octance)209hp/242lb-ft(93 octane) 215hp/247lb-ft AWW 5spd

http://www.goapr.com/VW/products/ecu...e_golf18t.html

The apr chip also has a module so you can set your car to 91octane, race, valet, or stock.. through your cruise control. How cool is that!

thats only like $600 installed out here with 1 stock program. and the APR supposedly gives lower gains then other chips (GIAC,REVO) but im getting APR cause its most reliable too.

add a downpipe +10-15 HP exhaust +10-15HP both for around $600...

its true the type-s would have more potential because its 200HP N/A... but ill have the same hp and torque numbers of a turboed rsx

The current GTI is 5-speed since the 20th anniversary is not being sold anymore I think. Thing has crazy torque and the turbine sounds real nice when it spools. The current generation has a solid rear beam type suspension. Sick torque throws you back in the seat, no honda does that.

The Type S has one of sickest engines available as a 4 banger. Thing growls in the high revs, the torque curve is flat and the car has one the sickest repsonses to bolt ons. It has multi-link rear independent suspension. Shorter gear ratios 6-speed stick and the car has sick style. But I guess it cost more than the GTI.

Then there that r32....

It has much better handling, but the Type S is more powerful in a straight line. The engine is potent and doesn't drop out of the powerband when redline and shift. The Celica drops out of its powerband, its redline has been moved down to 7600rpm. The celica has much much better handing I hear. It doesn't have as much aftermarket support as the Type S(so many NA mods for the Type S). There isn't an ECU upgrade for the celica I think.

how about, try loading two extra passengers into each of the cars and see how they both respond then.?.? watch the RSX struggle as the GTI just pulls away...

Its not easy to get around car problems these days...what about all the problems honda/acuras have had in the recent years like transmission problems, and yes even the latest model/year RSX and Civic Si have been having transmission problems (automatic AND manual) on top of, strut problems, lousy cv joints, squeaks, shakes, rattles, and whatever else you can think of, and etc. If you search on this board or any other board, you can find all sorts of common issues that the honda/acura line up have. I even had to have both of my front lower control arms replaced due to cracking bushings...who would think that something like that would go bad within the first year of owning it? Go figure...honda/acura quality isnt what it used to be, thats for sure!
