I think my LX has ABS?!?!?!

i was randomly comparing my gf's lx and my lx, when sumthin stuck out. i double checked on peoples profile to confirm my hunch. i have an extra brake fluid line and filler(i think) and so far, all the lx i seen on this site that has pics of their engine bay doesnt have it and all the ex does, for example
lx:
[

ex:

(liek how i made the ex engine look better?)

so wut does that mean? hopefully ABS or even better...vtec? hahaha

Huh?

I hope you were just trying find an excuse to show off your engine bay.. LX doesn't come with ABS.. and I don't think they put it in your car by mistake either, because it's not a dealer installed option.

If you don't believe me, why don't you go out in the snow or wet, and slam the brakes... if you don't feel the ABS viberation, and you skid out, then you don't have ABS.

Does it ALWAYS viberate? Or only when you are about to skid out? ABS is basically pulsating brakes--it simulates you pumping your brakes, to prevent locking up.

ABS is only activated when you're ABOUT to lock up... if you are always getting the viberation, then you have a warped brake rotor that needs to be replaced.

HondaLuver will become famous soon enough
are you sure that the extra "brake fluid line and filler(i think)" isn't for your manual transmition fluid... i have an auto and i don't have that, but i have an ex... so i have abs... only ex's have abs... thats why i have a ex...(other than the sunroof)

i can see you have a 5-speed, since your gf is a girl, she probly has an auto (im going to get flamed for being sexist)

alright, look at this first pics, do you see a box with metal hoses coming out right in front of the drivers side strut tower, Nope, now look at the pics right above, see it, YUP. That car has ABS, your however does not, the difference i believe is 2001 to 2002 PRODUCTION year, maybe not the model year.

yeah.. one thing pple should do is to check out the writings on the filler cap..... every cap in the engine bay has writing on them.. saying what fluid does it contain.... Read carefully.... it will say whether it's brake fuild or clutch or something....

That's just the clutch fluid reservoir. It uses regular DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid (same as the brake system).

yep, im an a*****e. what else is new? maybe i have a higher than normal expectation of other members of this site because i took the time to at least figure out what most of the stuff is under my hood. and that was before i started posting...cerca age 17. geez, even the owner's manual could tell you that you dont get abs in the lx models. honda doesnt misbadge car right outta the factory. so there isnt a chance he really got an ex.

and yes, there are such things as retarded questions. they are asked by retarded people...people that dont think and dont take the time to find the answer by themselves. such people rely too heavily on other members of society, and when they are on their own, they whine and bitch. on the thread about the auto wrx, i asked the question "do all engines have their firing orders imprinted on them?" because i couldnt find anything about it by myself.

i would love for this site to impose some sort of screening to stop noob posts like this.
