2003 ex civic

i am a firm believer in aggresive preventive maintainance, with a new car engine such as mine, when is the first time i should change my oil, ive heard at 2000, at this point ill be switching to mobil 1 syn. any thoughts on this or other things i can do to get most out of the car?

Read the owner's manual, it has a maintence schedule. Use it as your bible from now on!

You can change the oil when ever you want. Honda told me to go 4000-5000 on the factory oil because it has a couple of things in it to help break in the engine. I don't know if it really does, but I had the dealer change it with dino juice at 4800, then at 9600 I went to Mobil 1.

I personally change mine every 5000 Kms that's like 3000 miles? but it's above average to change every 5000 miles
