i know i might get flamed for this but i like the looks of the civic si - i know its different and it kinda looks like it was shot out of an elephants *** but id rather sport the honda than base rsx - think of it in this perspective, civic si - top of the line civic - than u have the "base" rsx - when i'd always be wishing i would have gotten the rsx type -s, get where im coming from - anyways i just like the car, i test drove it, it handles nicely and performes as expected
In Berkeley's Doten Honda, you can get a new Si for $16.5k. I pretty much live straight up the street from the place. What color would you get the new Si in?
EDIT: It's actually $16,888 and it was advertised. Unfortunately this was a special, and I read that it just ended on the 22nd of September. Since no one is evidently buying the car, I'm sure you can get away with it for a good deal such as this one providing you have good car buying experience. The only thing I will say that is for sure is...
Never buy a car in Oakland... regardless of the dealership. You might as well ... and let them rape the cash out your account.

local honda dealers are selling the si for $20,988 - anyone here with sales expirence have any advice to help me get them to lower the price tag, one salesman thought he was going to take $100 off the price and i just laughed.... i think 20k is rediclous - im in california - i guess i could travel elsewhere to find it for a descent price
Don't bring a woman with you. (You must do all the talking.)
Immediately tell the salesman you're looking for a good deal on a new car *today* (not telling them what you want) and if you can't find a good deal here, you'll just mosey on over to Pontiac or Chrysler or somewhere and check out what they've got. Find your car. If the initial price doesn't suit you but it suits him, remind him you'll be on your way next door to Toyota. Haggling isn't that hard. I dunno if I'm the one to ask though. I'm sure someone can do better than me. I remember earlier this year my friend got out the door with an 2k2 Accord LX for 13k out the door.

I am thinking of getting the SI too once my sis decide to take my civic. I talked with the saleman and told him how everywhere is selling for 16,999(which he didn't believe cuz he just sold one for 19500 out of the door. Then I showed him other honda web sites with a 16999 price). He wanted my business and offered 18000(include all tax, fee, tag and title) out of the door.

My local Honda dealership's internet salesman is selling them for invoice, $17100. I told him some places were selling them for less actually and I told him I think it's because it's been somewhat disappointing and because of the looks. He laughed and told me it's because it's "new and not alot of people know about it yet"... yeah right. Don't get me wrong though, I like it, and was actually thinking of getting one but am going to keep my options open.
