S2000 Story is true.
well s2000 is heavier
that why i would take any mx5 coz weight is like a fly
plus tons of aftermarket
tuned to handle 1+g's /double wb suspension
very >>cheap<<
turbo turbo turbo imagine 10sec
great for autox
can go under 18wheelers like F&F ..i think.. well you can try j.k
lighter curb=longer life on brakes and stops quicker and cornering..also fun to toss around watcning those maita driftin scary

that article just proves the stupidity and incompetence of the people that drive these cars in some mags. 14.1 for the stock car is respectable, though the best of us have hit 13.7-13.8 completely stock.
However, they put an SC on it, adding another 118 hp, and all they can knock off is a measly .3 of a second in the 1/4 mile?? And you guys act like it's the car that sucks. Come on, an extra 118hp and only another .3 second means horrible drivers.
Just an FYI, the guys with the comptech SC'd S2000's are running 12.9-13.1 on their best runs.

the S2000 slowed down in the 0-60 because it's a very lught car. The S/C probably made it much harder to hook up the tires...Also the small 1/4 Difference.. Same deal.. Traction...which is why most weekend warriors with Vipers go to the track with their 11 second car and run 14's..they can't hook up and make a pretty smoke show...

They will stop making S2000's when people stop buying them. Honda put 5 years of R&D into this car. They aren't just going to stop selling it, unless people stop buying them. I think it will be around a few years more.

I would take an s2000 over that, the s2000 looks 10x better than that BMW imo
I don't know about you guys...but I just absolutely adore the styling of the front headlights on the S2000. Is really unique in comparison to the cars out there on the market.
Let's see
S2000 vs your BMW convertible
Handling: S2000
Looks: (subjective)
roadcourse: S2000
stopping: S2000
Price: S2000
skidpad: S2000
And unless I'm mistaken, I do believe the S2000 and BMW are tied in the 1/4 mile as well. (both are capable of about 13.6-13.7 at best in stock form)
So it's faster, handles better, stops quicker, and costs less than your BMW convertible.
So other than the fact that someone wants to own a car that says "BMW" on it, please tell me why you'd get that car over the S2000??

Actually, the newest XJR is probably one of the quicker jaguars. (1/4 mile 13.8, about on par with the S2000)
But the V12's you are talking about, like the V12 convertible, and the XJ12 or whatever it was (1994) are 15 second cars.
How can you say that a Honda is better than an M3. Any Honda, including an NSX! I'd take the M3 over any other car in the world. Except for the M5, of course.
To each his own but LMFAO! I'm sorry but the NSX does indeed own that rather fugly bmw.

Well if you did hear, Honda is making the S2000 Supercharged. it will have a Vortech SC on it that will make it 358-bhp. now your going to ask how fast is it. Stock they will run a 1/4 in 14.1 with e SC there doing it in, 13.8@105.6mph. Not to bad. But for 7 grand i can build a LS/vtec and put type-r intenearls in it and have it run 13.3@111.4mph. and then put a 100 shot in it and run 12 somthing. So for all that money that isn't all that fast.
Umm .. why are you comparing a brand new S2000 to a sh-itty $7000 car? Different class buddy, different class.
I can build a 12-sec car with under $5000.. what's your point?? If you can AFFORD an S2000 (which by the way, happens to compete with Z3, Boxster & SLK), then that's what you buy.
You live within your budget. Why do you drive a new Civic? Some people look at you go and say you're an idiot because you could've gotten a much faster used Mustang for less.. but I'm sure you had your own smart & valid reason for buying a new Civic.
Right??
