I see little gauges there all the time. What are they? Remember I'm a newbie so you might have to explain the function of something (if you're one of those people who are nice to newbies ).

Thanks,

IronFist

ok well depends on the car
my friend has a 450 hp type R
so his are for his turbo, exhaust temp, and oil temp i think
For his turbo it tells him how much boost he is using, (ex. 8 psi, or 10 psi, or 20 psi)
Exhaust temp- makes sure his car is not getting too hot,
Oil temp- checks how how it oil his inside the engine

for our slow cars, that we really dont need them, they are mostly for looks,
some of us have, Vacuum hose which i believe is how much air we are sucking in
we also use the Oil temperature as i explained above, and other insignificant things....

hope that answers ur question
they look good eh?

They also have some for nitrous, right? Like how much is left in the bottle or something?

sadboy916, I agree with you. I think they look cool.

Are they hard to install yourself? Like an oil temp one. Some cars come with oil temp gauges stock (my old Corsica did) but Civics do not. If you wanted to install an oil temp gauge would it be difficult? Uh, and what causes oil to become too hot? This is bad, I presume?

You wanna show some pics before you come in here and try to bash people? If you are implying that you have a turbo, then by all means, show some pictures. There are MANY people who would like to see them.

Please don't hijack my thread

Oil gauge answers, anyone?

Oh yeah, and someone mentioned a gauge to measure the temperature of the air in the intake... do they even make those? Hard to install?

Thanks,

IronFist

Gracias Vizyun

And sorry IronFist, didn't mean to take over your thread

Usually, I see people with Oil Temp and Boost, (sometimes vaccum too).

If you wanna be like Uncle Ben, go with a Volt meter in your A-pillar. It's good for at least 20 - 30

That would be cool. Do they actually make these? Would it be difficult to install? Someone answer this.

Here's another gauge question. Ok, I can understand having gauges on your A-pillar cuz they're easy to see... but in magazines I see pictures of people with gauges like above their glove compartment. Why would you want one here? Isn't it hard to see from the driver's seat?

Thanks,

IronFist

Maybe they're just for show, or maybe they expect their friends to ride around with them on all of their "racing adventures" and tell them what the guages say .
