Rep Power: 0 my car got messed up bad last nite
last nite my friend took my car cuz he needed to go home. well while he was drivin on the interstate, the street lights were off so it was pitch black except for the headlites and then all of a sudden there was a freakin light pole in the middle of the interstate!!!
he couldnt stop in time so he pretty much ran over it goin bout 60. 5 other people ran over it and i think somebody almost died
so yeah there goes my tsunami kit, koni shocks, h&r springs, and my wheels and tires. he's givin me 500 for the deductable and i dont think i'm gonna do external mods anymore.... jus not worth it if its gonna be gone like that in a split second

Rep Power: 0 thats what insurance is for. Get a quote from the dealer on what it's going to cost to replace with OEM parts and then after you get the check just buy everything you used to have.
edit: thats assuming they don't total the car. It's hard to guess what damage driving over a light pole could do but I imagine it could really mess up your whole frame and suspension enough to warrent getting it totaled.

Rep Power: 294 The thing that sucks is after your friend gives you the 500 to cover the deductible...........
upon your next car insurance renewal, your rates are going to INCREASE.

Rep Power: 0 your lucky he was only going 60. Our interstate speed limit is 70 and I usually go 75-80. I would definitely look into having the government pay for that crap. What was a freakin light pole doing in the middle of the road?

Rep Power: 0 there was no way in hell u coulda seen it comin. it was comin around a turn and it was pitch black cuz all the street lights were off. it turns out somebody knocked the pole down so we'll see wut happens. plus if he tried to dodge it, he coulda hit someone in the right lane or veer into the median wall which would be 100x worse

Rep Power: 0 If the light pole was knocked down by a earlier driver that left, then you're SOL on sueing the D.O.T. because its not thier fault, but if it fell down because the light pole was improperly installed or had weak mounts then you might have a case. You should try and contact the other people that hit it and find out if they know anything on how the pole fell and if they have a lawyer. Trying to bring a suit against the state or county for damage on your car caused by pot holes or debrise in the road is hard to win unless it was so bad a injury was involved. Good Luck.

Rep Power: 0 i was pretty sure i heard you mention that other cars ran into it...in that case, had it JUST been hit, or had it been down for a while? ....well...i would definitely look into seeing if the state will cover it......
