Is there a heat shield for SRI?

I have an AEM SRI and I'm wondering if I could get a heat shield for it? Will a heat shield actually help at all?

i haven't seen anything specifically made for the purpose, but i'm sure you could easily find a sheet of aluminum which you could cut and bend yourself to block the heat. this actually would help, as it would force the intake to suck air from the wheel well, which is colder and cleaner than air in the engine compartment.

The K&N FIPK comes with a heat shield on it. I haven't heard anybody do any reviews of it yet though.

Get some of that heat wrap stuff that some people put on their headers.

Another person to ask: Did you notice any gains from your AEM SRI? Thanks.

u can get a heat shield from either injen or spw. they both are universal. it mounts right where the filter and pipe meets.

2 Q's:
Both injen's and k&n's will fit on an aem sri?
you can buy both of them separately from the intake?

waste of 50 bucks or however much you can get it for.

injen's universal heatshield would fit the AEM. K&N's wont. its designed for the FIPK and is more practical than injen's and other's universal heatshields. it covers more area and somewhat blocks out and seperate the engine bay air from the air around the filter. injen's universal heatshield doesn't do much since it doesn't really seperate the filter from the engine bay air.

I would think that the Injen one should work for the AEM SRI, but as far as being functional I dont think there is too much of a difference, it might help "deflect" some of the heat but its still going to be sucking hot air from the engine bay.
I plan on getting one but its to help keep the water, snow, and slush out during the winter.
