Factory Alarm + Hella Air horns = my car is still mine
So im sittin at my friends house when i hear my obnoxiously loud air horn alarm go off. I run down the stairs (three Flights) and get to my car and all my friends neighbors lights in their houses are on. And i see a car turning down the street. Well needless to say, im pretty happy i opted for the factory alarm and got my air horns (if anyone has heard hellas before you can vouch how loud they are). So if you have the factory alarm be glad you do. cause my baby still sits in my driveway because of it.

Are these airhorns the same as the ones on big azz 18 wheelers? That audio clip I heard from the DIY sounded so high pitched...
I like the low pitched HOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK of an 18 wheeler's horns

Hmm considering the 2k1's have transponders in the key...you had to have left your key in the car for the cars ignition to work...in which case..your car should have been stolen... if not..it wasn't a 7th gen civic

The bigger the air horn size the deeper the pitch is. No room for huge horns like the 18 wheelers. 2 compressors baybee! That's where it's at.

we'll maybe they couldn't have taken the car, but the could have taken the radio and stuff by opening the door which seems what they were trying to do. And in any rate i'm sure they will find a way around the transponder eventually
I just installed some electric horns I purchased at Pep Boys, $40.00
It sound good for only 115 decibels of sound, the horns were abou 12'' long and were a biachi to install, it was tight!
I installed them underneath my Hella 500 foglamps that also flicker with the stock alarm.
They are lound enought than stock and no compresor was needed.
Other bigger louder models were available.
Satisfaction rated at about 80% with me.
