Horn and lights going off randomly, like panic button

I have a 01 Civic EX and the horn and lights go off randomly. Sometimes it happens when I am driving, sometimes it happens while the car is sitting in the garage. Other people have seen it happen to my car while it was parked in a parking lot about a 1/2 mile from where I am. I took it to the dealership and they said I had a bad cell in my battery. They replaced it but it is still happening. It happens randomly, and did not happen when it was at the shop.

Thanks
Ray

You may want to post this under Vehicle Issues, or maybe even in the Tech Forum. Someone there may be able to shed some light . . .

Well, have you thought about the alarm module? Maybe it's gone bad. Or, maybe the power connection is kinda loose and it makes sporadic contact, causing the alarm to "self-test"? That would be mi first route.

I've had mine do that 3 or 4 times too. Not while driving though.
