ok...
yesterday as i come back from work my neirbor tells me some news that am glad i heard kinda....
She told me that 4 am in the morning 4 guys were walking aroung my car checking it out,
them one guys pulls the door handle and the alarm chirps 4 times waring that the car has an alarm
then when they heard the chirp they walk away.
Thats the whole story but it kinda scare me, what should i do?
i know a stupid alarm wont stop them and even if it dose i dont need a busted window or a scratchs on my car.....
any sugestions?

Rep Power: 0 obviously they were planning on stealing your car, but a lot of thieves usually prefer not to deal with alarms. a "stupid alarm" is always a good thing to have.

Rep Power: 0 Put some place safer like in a garage. But if you can't do that stay up and wait for them and hopefully you can catch them before they do anything.

Rep Power: 393 cops, always there to harrass you, never to help you.
sorry no offence to you quick cause you've proved that your one of the "cool" ones but ya this is coming from my experience with them... maybe cause its LAPD, just look at what happened to the black 16/17 year old this past month.

Rep Power: 0 VNil, that wasn't the LAPD. It was the Inglewood Police Department and evidence is suggesting that the officer hit the defendant in response to having his private area grabbed. Let's not jump the gun as to whether or not this guy was bad until the investigation is over.
Most of us do the job to help--not to harass. I don't get my jollies off of using a siren or writing out a summons--if I observe a violation of the law, I take action, and if I can help someone, I do. That's what 90% of us are out here for...ok, enough of my rant.
Anyway, I park my car on the street mostly, but I live and work in a very, very low crime area.

Rep Power: 0 I had an old camaro, the first time I found the door left open but i saw no one there.I called the cops they put some powder stuff for finger prints. No point i guess. The second time they came all I saw was teh glass left over that they broke. When the cops found the car a while later I could barely tell it was mine. The only thing left was the frame. So watch out. If they see you they will run away usually.
P.S. Take a bat with you.

Rep Power: 393 if your in van nuys, ca they'll jack any car including hyundais...
and i never said i didn't respect them... i just dont have much love for them... i still respect them tho.... if i need help imma still expect them to be there, but if their not, i wouldnt be surprised.... if i get caught doing something badd, i'm not going to hate them cause i'll admit when i do something badd. but if they disrespect me and treat me like a thug like they always do, then i wont have respect for them(well that particular cop)...
and whether or not he was badd, i dont think ANYONE deserves to get hit after being handcuffed... that is just wrong...

Rep Power: 0 get one of thoes floodlights that turn on when something moves in the sensor range ...... thoes work because they think your coming out and if they do come back and you see them run out as your light turns on so they think you are watching your car like a hawk! lol

Rep Power: 0 Chances are they were not going to steal your car that night. What happens a lot out here is people will go and see what cars have alarms. Most of the time they won't get out to check but hey. In a lot of the apartment complexs what people will do is go throw eggs at the cars to see which go off. Then they will come back the next night and take the car. So I would just stay up and see if they come back or rig a camera. Best bet is to get a lojack. Makes insurance go down too.

Rep Power: 0 i think you should run a high voltage security system to make your car ... highly electric
next time they come up and touch your handle *shock* guy gets temporarily paralized
really though, i hate when people do not respect your car... it pisses me off so much when i see people leaning on cars that arent thiers (happens around my school all the time). You didnt pay for that sh|t, its not your freaking lawn chair! I'd flip if i saw that happen to my car.

Rep Power: 0 About the neighbor not calling the cops. I don't really blame him/her. i bet they would hvae beeen long gone by the time it happened.
a month or so ago, I caught some people tyring to break into my car at like 4 am. they took off. and i didn't call the cops. lol. then a couple days later, I was a suspect in some car breakins. wtf. haha. oh well. maybe if i'd called. but still they didn't understand why i was up at 4am.

Rep Power: 391 I would've called the cops and watched as they did absolutely nothing about it. I have been a witness to several crimes in this town... and I have called the cops whenever I feel I am in some sort of danger or when I can't make use of a public facility because I would be in danger if I did.... Every time I've called, the person on the other end of the phone says "Someone will be out right away"... and I can wait there for 2 or 3 hours and they never come... It's really quite annoying actually... apparently my tax money is useless.
