I need some advice...

I need some advice. I am getting an 02 civic ex sometime soon and i plan on racing it, maybe professionally. I am very weight concious and i want to know opinions on if i should get the ex with side air bags or the one without them. Also for those of you who have the factory rear spoiler, is it profecient in reducing drag? all adivice is appreciated.

the rsx isn't allowed because it is too expensive.

TWO THINGS IMO....
1)if your gonna race it, why do u need an ex? u dont need sunroof/cruise/power windows/power locks and all those extras...everyone is right you shouldnt pick a 7th gen civic to race, but if u already do get the lightest one possible
2)if your gonna race it, why do u care abotu airbags in the seats, im hoping your not gonna keep the stock seats, race cars usually have racing seats...
sorry but you dont make much sense...

first of all the car has to basically be stock second the ex already has the best power to weight ratio

all im asking is is the advantage of having the airbags in safety outweigh the advantage (however small as it may be) of having a somewhat lighter car.

yeah EX would be better cause of vtec and a little more power compared to LX and DX but it also has a little extra things that you might not want in this situation...

ak can only hope to improve
No to the side airbag, *very* expensive to replace and eh..well since you're gonna be wearing a helmet (i hope) it won't help that much.

ya if u really want to race i would get a 99 or 00 si with a good turbo they are amazing, but if u really want a 7th gen no side airbags and if you get an ex the engine is better then dx and lx more weight but you could take out things that would make it lighter if you wanted it for racing like the ac and power steering
