Jekyll -- a 20-something in a lowered car...

DING! you're right! gee, who would have thought that "20-somethings in lowered cars" drive fast, eh?! me, i NEVER would have guessed...

dumbass.

that would be like wearing a trenchcoat, baseball cap, and an open backpack... and wondering why everyone seems to be staring at you in the CD aisle at best buy.

respectful? please. telling some one to shut the f*ck up is respectful? nah, i dont think so. if someone is rude, people respond rudely. plus, he introduced a non-relevant example. as a whole we were discussing being pulled over as a MINORITY. last i checked, white people were the majority. -inspectaDeck

Ummm ahem,

Go PoPo go PoPo go!!.. .. sorry had to get that out... Officers pull over lowered hondas and other clearly modifed cars for 2 reasons. Generally the drivers are in fact speeding which is against the law. 2nd. Many cars are illegally modified and cops see you breaking the law for speeding. Then want to see what else you did wrong. Many Officers let by minor speeders without any hassle. Driving a car with a muffler you can hear for a Mile goign 20 over the limit..well most people with modified cars who speed tend to speed ALOT and much faster..it's also to scare them into knowing PoPo keepin an eye on them...

Just look how many race posts go up. Look how many civic vs. civic races..look hwo they all list the mods for both cars..Hmmm Cops are not stupid..they give mod'd car drivers a hard time to prevent them from street racing and speedign way over the limit for reason of the safety of others..

Cheers

DM preppy....

Before you start calling other people dumb, you may want to look at how you compose your sentences. Punctuation is a good thing, so is spelling, you should check into that.

What do I do? I am a MIS specialist with a large technologies company. If your not sure what "MIS" stands for, you can find a great definition here. Other terms for this job role also include BIS, and CIS.

Take a chill pill and grow the f$#@$@ up.

Busting a car simply because it's modified makes no sense to me. OK, the guy wanted to make his car faster. But it's not like another guy bought a Porsche Turbo and kept it stock to drive the speed limit. Shouldn't ALL sports cars be profiled as well? I don't know what I'm saying, this probably makes no sense, whatever.

More often than not, mods violate equipment violation statutes...at least in my state. So it is fair game.

Almost all cops leave modded cars alone..if a guy in a mod'd car is speeding..then he better watch out.. Cops will let people in minivans and large cars get away with minor speeding most of the time.. like 7-10 over the limit.. If you're driving a lowered civic, have altezza's and whatnot and are driving the limit..chances of getting pulled over are slim to none.. Now.. driving that civic ang going 7-10 over the limit.. you'll be seeing red and blue mighty fast.

Cheers

Ohhhhhhhh ok.

But that still makes no sense. Why should someone in a minivan and a huge car get away with it, while someone that like to modify their car does not? I'd say an Excursion speeding is far more dangerous than a Civic or smaller car, because they are more prone to roll or whatever if they have to swerve or brake suddenly, and also the fact that F=MA.

I stop the driver, not the car. I'm not sure how other people function. People with minivans can be poor drivers, just as operators of any other vehicles can be.

But then again your borderline anally retentive at being a fair cop. All Officers are human and have their own quirks, preferances and prejudices. You, your pretty textbook. Which is neither a compliment nor an insult. You just do things as they should be done.

No, it was going in the direction that you all were being pulled over because of racism. You think that just because white people are the majority in this country that they cannot be a victim of racism just as much as a black person can?

Okay that's fine...stare, but I'm not talking about cops staring...I'm talking about a cop pulling me over - like being a twenty something in a lowered car is against the law. That's harrassment...when they are pulling me over to FIND something wrong. What is all that nonsense in the bill of rights or the constitution about probable cause? Oh wait that's right..that only applies to Jane in her stock honda civic sedan with the kids, right? Otherwise...unless you catch me driving fast...don't pull me over. That's all I'm sayin. I don't drive fast...but my ride looks clean. Driving a clean @ss ride...that's the only law I'm breakin.

alpha, your calling me a nerd, hell man, your job is really cool........ your one to talk man, you must have tons of people skills with that job, so I guess you could tell me a thing or two about dealing with police, since you deal with them on a day to day basis like I do.......Does your job come with a pocket protector as well????? Don't bash someone's job until you know what they do..........I'm a auto and property adjuster but I also adjust large liability claims in companies where sexual harassment and abuse of power are claimed by employees......you know I don't have the greatest job, and when I speak about cops its with personal experiences in mind, not bias, so I apologize if I have affended anyone with my remarks, and to you alpha, but I think I'm entitled to my own opinion, and alpha, I'm sure your job is a good one, seriously.................

I don't expect people to know the law extensively, but I would hope that I didn't need probable cause to make a traffic stop. If that were the case, I would need a warrant to do so (or have the offense happen before my eyes). YOU DO NOT NEED PROBABLE CAUSE TO MAKE A TRAFFIC STOP--only reasonable suspicion, which is a much, much lower standard.

Preppy,

I was going to go into a long rant, but your not worth my time man. Work on your spelling, then we will talk. I refuse to have a dialog with somebody who is not capable of getting their point across in a somewhat decent fashion.

If you're refering to cops by your comment, don't bother calling the next time you need assistance.

The same people who love to go around saying they hate us are the first people dialing 911 and demanding an immediate response. Go figure.
