How many times can I get a ticket for????
Just wondering if anyone knows this. cough..qcksilver..cough
I got a ticket for no front license plate. Is there a limit to how many times I can get a ticket for this over a year or 6 months or anything? You know... like a statute of limitations type deal?

well, it is not a moving violation and sounds like a fix it ticket to me. I guess it is not a fix it ticket, unless you have a ghetto police district and all they want is your money....
Humm did they just pull you over for no front plate? or did he allready have you pulled over. Yeah I heard the cops in my town just give you a fine for that, but I would be mad if they gave me a fix it ticket for my tint I would rather pay a fine and just keep the tint on but thats another topic

I was pulled over for no front license plate about 1 month ago.
IT was really stupid, I was behind a cop and he was slowing down on purpose, so I started to pass him (but in the back of my head, I Was thinking just turning right) so I pass him and then he pulls up behind me and pulls me over.
Says, I have no front license plate and gave me a fix it ticket. I have to get it signed and sent to the P.D by 06/20, a $10.00 fee required.
Complete B.S if you ask me.
So I'm lagging and I guess I have to drill the holes.

It is an actual ticket.. not a fix-it... he didn't even give me that option.
And yes, that's the ONLY reason he pulled me over. It's the first thing he said when he walked up.
So if I plead guilty and pay the fine, I'm just wondering if there is a limit to the number of tickets I can get for the exact same thing on the exact same car over a period of time...??

depends where you are from i guess, of you want to get it, but there is a local car stereo shop (marcy,ny).he made a device that hides under the car, when you flick the switch from inside the car the license plate folds out.

Yeah I would think that its like parking tickets, you can get as many as you want and not pay them, but I would think eventually they would come find you for not paying. But if you pay each time them then I would think it shouldnt matter, hell its more money for the cops.
I don't know about other places, but in my area you can have your licence suspended for accumulating something like 20 of these tickets. That includes things like tints and neons and all sorts of stuff. They get real pissed about all that, not like they have anything better to do then stop me for my windshield washer lights.
It's not a fix it ticket, and it is not a moving violation. It's not a parking ticket either, the operator is actually pulled over and charged with the offense and it is written up on a "Uniform Traffic Summons" or "Simplified Traffic Information," which is not a parking summons. That said, I suppose it could be issued for each instance an officer saw you operate w/o a front plate.
It is not more money for the cops as someone else mentioned, the money goes to the city, village, town, county or state to which the summons is returnable.
In the State of New York, your license will be suspended for accuring 11 points within an 18 month period, being convicted of DWI, refusing to submit to a breath test, one instance of street racing among other things and you must personally appear at the court (can not plea by mail) if you receive a subsequent charge of the same offense within an 18 month period.
My opinion, use the front plate if it's required by your state, it's a pet peeve of a lot of cops for a good reason, and I tend to stop for it as well.

That's just how I talk. I'm not sure if it's typical for a 23 year old, but I like to sound educated and well informed during a conversation

Did you know that in business communication that it is actually better not to use big words or technical jargon. I always laugh at business majors who try to impress others with their vocabulary. Usually, they are trying to impress the receivers of their message. The goal is to express, not impress. However, it can be beneficial is certain situations.
Anyhow, my point was that you can be issued a ticket for a violation all day, every day. I got a no inspection ticket one week and got another the next week from the same cop. I asked him if it was legal for him to give another ticket within 30 days from the last one. He promptly replied that he could give me a ticket every hour and every day until I got a new inspection sticker.

I actually went to business school and have a degree in business management and accounting. Technically, I am trained in how to run an business in the most efficient manner. I consider the way I speak typical for an adult and an adult should be able to understand the words that I use. I do agree with you that using a large vocabulary isn't always the way to go--my parents are both trial lawyers and they never use big words as it simply turns the jury off and most educated people won't even understand the legal jargon unless they have some type of legal background. But like you say, it is beneficial in certain situations, and I like to come off as being an educated adult.
Addressing the topic, you are correct about the summonses. From the point that a motorist receives summons #1 for offense A, they could technicially be stopped again and receive summons #2 for offense A if they are in the commission of it again--such as no front plate. The second they are released on the summons, they are in the commission of it again unless the front plate is put on properly.

I really shouldn't have directed the reply at you. I was mainly just throwing out some good advice for the younger people on the board. Although, I highly doubt any of them pay any attention. You made a very valid point though. Your tone and diction should be adjusted according to your audience's characteristics. On the internet in general, it is definately to one's advantage to use proper grammar and spelling. Afterall, that is the only tool others have to judge you by. Anyhow, I don't think one has to talk that way to seem educated or sound like an adult. That is when you are out to impress. Intimadation, manipulation, job interviews, condescending comm, etc......are instances when that kind of communication is beneficial. Otherwise, the goal is to simply have your receivers understand your ideas and thought as you intended them to be.
Actually, I run a private investigations business on my off days where I investigate matters for attorneys, and I also run my own emergency vehicle installation business where I install lights, sirens, etc. in police cars. To that extent, my degree in management and accounting has helped me greatly, but no, I don't have any experience running any huge types of businesses.

The only website I think I remember posting was www.galls.com. They do carry emergency lights, but the prices are extremely high, and a four point strobe system will end up costing something like $400 from them, and that isn't even the best one. They also profit on shipping. PM me with what you were interested in and I'll tell you what a decent price for it is and what to look for.
