i test drove an MP3 a while back. it handled soooo well. just needed more power...the turbo is the answer. i really like the styling. if only it were a coupe., i wouldn't mind having one.

On a track the MP3 will eat you for breakfast brunch, lunch linner and dinner. It's handling is almost up there with the Porche. Check road&track , car and driver, motortrend reviews on the mp3. Acceleration wise on a straight road, sure you'll probably beat it, but hey, anyone can step on the accelerator.

Probably? There is no question. He got his *** handed to him..launched at VTEC (5k) at the light and it was about 3 cars by the next light. I dont Auto X...so i could care less how much better it handles in twisties, I dont race ppl on mountains.

Apparently the MP3 has BY FAR, the best stock suspension setup in its price range. That thing can just about outhandle anything in its class... those Mazda boys sure did a good job setting this baby up.

I think I speak for about 99% of the people on this site when I say that I'll take honda quality everytime. No knock to the MP3 cause it does handle like a champ, but you kinda wanna knock on the engine and ask if theres anybody home. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]

If the stock MP3 has no power then neither does the 7thgen. 115 to 127 hps isn't that much either. Mp3 has 140 with 135~ torque. Both can add super/turbo charger to it, but the MP3 already has turbos you can add to it. Not much choice for the 7thgen civics. Mazdaspeed, which is producing the supercharged 2003 protege, will have a upgrade bolt on kit for the MP3 and MP5. Tri Point already has a turbo for the MP3 and P5 as well as other companies.

Stock to stock, MP3 will eat a stock civic. ( Not including the 02 Si/SiR ).

Not to bash the 7th gen civic, since i did own one, but to say the quality of the MP3 sucks, check how many recalls on the 2k1 civics vs the MP3 or MP5. Also check your Vin, and see where both are made.
