Officially An Old Man Now
My poor man's mid life crisis (95 Civic EX w/b20 + LS head) car has been retired as it cannot pass state inspections. So, I bought my son's friend's 2000 Buick Century (3.1L V6) which is like riding on a cloud with wheels. Haven't owned American since I was a teenager almost four decades ago.
Already replaced the thermostat (pita), radiator, throttle body coolant hoses, clean throttle body and did an ATF drain and fill with filter replacement. Definitely, not as easy to work on as the old Civic.

When I first met my wife she had a 2003 Buick Century. I can confirm it's a cloud on wheels and was actually fairly good on fuel as well. It was a piece though, rocker panels were horribly rusted and had at least one bad head gasket.

Re: Officially An Old Man Now
This car was a Florida car all it's life so it had very little rust. However does have clear coat fading on good and driver's door.
92k miles purchased at $1,500...tires have 90% tread. More importantly I purchased it from someone trusted. His father serviced the car when it needed repairs/maintenance. A few months ago he replaced the intake gasket (common issue) so I don't have to worry about that.
The low coolant light is intermittent so, will replace that soon with oem (a/c Delco). Just replaced trunk lift struts yesterday. Such a contrast to me old Civic. Big, heavy and soft ride compared to the glorified go-kart feel of the lightweight Civic. I wish I had both here.

Yes they are. Just hoping for nothing major. Did an atf drain & fill + filter change yesterday and it went smoothly, thankfully. While braking at high speeds feeling vibrations through the steering wheel .... may need front rotors? Good thing is, just like old Civics, parts are cheap, mostly.

I am having a midlife crisis too. I hate my 4 year old Nissan Sentra. It is seriously underpowered, has horrible speakers and not enough. I am a music person, so have a bad sound system is the other reason I hate my car. So, what am I getting?
a 2020 or 2021 civic coupe! Power and 10 speakers with a great sound system. How slow will the next three months go?
