Car Will Not Start Very Serious Problem Help

Hi friends!

This is for a 2006 Scion tC but I think it will be similar to anyone that has a problem with a key and keyfob so the story is this:

I have only 1 key and the buttons are messed up so I took out the electrical thing inside the key out and put it in a new key without it made yet by a locksmith and I got the bright idea to see if the car would start with just the original bare key and no electrical thing and it would not crank.
I put the electrical thing back inside the original key and now the car will not start at all.

All the electrical stuff is good, the key unlock/lock buttons work on the key but it wont crank.

Do you think the starter just spazzed on me or is the immobilizer doing something? No cranking noise.

PLEASE HELP I CANT MOVE THE CAR AND I NEED TO MOVE IT SOON OR TOW

Well seeing as you were just messing with the key and the immobilizer I would say its related to that. Reset the car maybe?

Re: Car Will Not Start Very Serious Problem Help

Trying to start a car without a programmed key shouldn't mess anything up. Just won't start the car. Source: accidentally tried to start my 2002 Civic with an unprogrammed key once. Even tried push starting the thing and it wouldn't start up. Figured out I was dumb and it started up with the programmed key no problem.

What kinda noise is it making when you try and start it? Cranks for days, but won't start? Rapid clicking? Single click? Nasty groaning sound like you're trying to start the car with the engine running?

Sorry for posting in wrong section guys.

Power is good, I put in the clutch and turn and it doesn't click.

No noise is made at all.

The key indicator is letting me know that the key + keyfob is good because it flashes in a certain way if the key is good or bad, locksmith actually came and told me it is a starter issue but I want more opinions...

God damn dealership said to tow my car there and minimum estimate is $450.

$100 to tow it and $450 minimum?!

F*ck that!

Do you have a multi-meter? Check if the clutch switch is doing its job. Alternatively, jump the clutch switch and see if it starts.

Clutch switch passes the test? Smack the ever living **** out of the starter solenoid. My weapon of choice was the butt end of my 14" ½" drive breaker bar
