Are all Hondas interference engines? Any non-interference?

Do all Honda's have interference engines?

I keep reading different answers online but most sites claim that all Honda's have interference engines.

Are there any Hondas that are non-interference engines?

I want to buy a used Civic but now I am concerned because I dont want to end up with a bad engine.

What years of civic have non-interference engines?
What about Accords?

Which Civics have a timing chain not a belt?

A non-interference engine is designed a way for better performance but if a timing belt or chain breaks it can break the valves and even destroy the engine.

Definition:

An interference engine is a type of 4-stroke internal combustion piston engine in which one or more valves in the fully open position extends into any area that the piston may travel into.

By contrast, in a non-interference engine the piston does not travel into any area into which the valves open.
Interference engines rely on timing gears, chains, or belts to prevent the piston from striking the valves by ensuring that the valves are closed when the piston is near top dead center. Interference engines are prevalent among modern production automobiles and many other 4-stroke engine applications; the main advantage is that it allows engine designers to maximize the engine's compression ratio. However, such engines risk major internal damage if the piston strikes the valve(s) due to failure or poor maintenance of the timing components and/or camshaft(s).[1]

Timing belts or chain 2006+

Do all 2006 and newer Honda Civics use a timing chain?

I read online somewhere that is true.

If thats the case thst sucks.

Timing belts are easier to change.

Timing chains on modern cars are not as good as they were in the 70s from what I read online.
Since timing chains are partially inside the engine and require more labor to replace, timing chains are way more expensive to replace and harder.

Is this true?

If so, so much for buying a 2006 or newer Civic.
I would rather have a timing belt on a Civic.

Anyone know exact years that have belts?

Any differences with the sport, Si, R models?

Given they are likely all interference engines.

Anyway to fix the issue or swap engines?

I've not witnessed a chain problem on the R18 engine since they came out in late 05.

Depends

Is this true?
Again, depends

If the chain lasts the life of the car, who cares how hard or easy it is to replace?

Anyone know exact years that have belts?
The last 4 cylinder engine with a timing belt sold in North America was the D17 series.

ALL of Hondas 4 cylinder engines since 2006 employ timing chain or chains.

Hondas V6 engines still use a timing belt to this day

Anyway to fix the issue or swap engines?
There is no issue to fix.

The people who have very premature chain issues usually have K series engines and typically have some history of neglect in either maintaining proper oil level, or oil type, or neglecting oil change maintenance services.

I think J30 is the only one that is not listed as interference.

If you MAINTAIN the engine properly, chances are greatly improved that it will serve you well without breakdown.

This statement is contradictory, therefore false
