Just a quick question

Regarding my 14 mazda3s(currently 600km) first oil change, i asked the dealership when it should be and was told at roughly 8000km or 4 months(ithink) but my manager and big boss told me i should do it at 1000km just after engine break in.

im not to sure on what to do and would love some input
thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Just a quick question

What does your owners manual say?

Honda wants the factory fill oil to stay in for at least 5000 miles, or until the minder says 15%.
IDK what Mazda wants these days, but I'd assume it would be similar. 1k first oil change is not the norm anymore for most manufacturers.

Re: Just a quick question

Thanks ezone, nothing mentioned in the break in procedure and in the maintenance schedule mirrors what dealership said (8000km or 4months)

Drive it like ya stole it!

Not really. I'd drive it like my usual self.. I get accused of driving like a grandma most of the time.

Re: Just a quick question

I waist a lot of money but I dump my High mileage Mobil 2000 every 5000km, though it is rated for 10,000. However I do race her at least once a month at autoX and I am running an aftermarket filter which has greater flow but lesser protection do to the fact that it filters above 10 microns.
