Re: mufflers
I have a Magnaflow 2.5" oval muffler and I love it, although I've heard some 6th gens that sounded absolutely amazing with Flowmaster 44s.
In my opinion, to get the best sound, you'll want larger diameter piping like most catback systems offer. It makes the sound deeper and less "farty" i guess. However, big piping makes your car pretty loud, so be warned if you go that route, lol

Re: mufflers
Different car will sound different even with the same muffler. So K's magnaflow will sound different in his 2005 civic than towguy87's 98.
Generally, the rule of thumb is any good manufacture like magnaflow, hks, greedy, etc...
Anything you find on eBay is pretty much junk, especially if it had the word "style" in there.

Re: mufflers
My muffler was only about $75 from Anderson Auto on Amazon.com
Go to Magnaflow's website and find the size that you need, nab the part number, then search Amazon and Ebay for the part # and you'll find them much cheaper than you would from an actual dealer.
My Magnaflow exhaust tip was actually a worse value than the muffler I got, lol

I have a Vibrant Streetpower muffler and I love it. Stealth flat black and it's the perfect sound wise. It has a nice low tone that is there when you want it, but it's extremely quiet if you stay out of it and are just cruising. It was about $100 if I remember right. I have it on a 7th gen, but my friend had one on an EF hatchback and that sounded just as good.

Re: mufflers
Yeah, but we're talkin' 6th gnes here.
Actually, some of them sound okay without a full catback setup. I personally like the sound of this one. (would sound better it it was a twin cam :P)

Re: mufflers
The red one in the video is on stock piping, but with a larger diameter muffler. I have a friend with an identical setup and it sounds about the same.
But I still recommend catbacks for deeper sound.
And some fart cans look okay. As long as you don't ever buy glasspacks for a Civic... ever.
