TURBO PETITION IDEA
TURBO PETITION IDEA
Ok,
I have a good idea. I was thinking, why don't I or someone with good connections get a petition going for a turbo kit from some big manufactureer. Here it is. Make a letter or some sorts on microsoft word. Say that you want to buy, and that you would buy a turbo kit if made. How many members or even better people do you think read this websites forums? What if we got like 1000-1500 people to send this letter to me or one of the moderators to compile and send to Greddy, HKS, Drag, etc. If we sent an email to them with 1500 letters asking for a turbo kit, I am sure that would open some eyes within the company. These companies would see that there is a market hungry for 7th gen civic modifications. Let me know some of your thoughts. If any of the Moderators would like to take this on, or I could, I think this would be a start at getting that turbo kit together. If your like me, I am sick of not being able to make this vehicle perform as any of the other Vics out there. I mean one more year, and Honda's going to have a new generation Civic out on the market. Damn it!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, Let me know your thoughts. If there is a way to advertise this petition, let me know or one of the moderators know.
Peace

jackson DEF wont make one for our car, just not enough room, but i think if we are willing to sacrifice a/c or power steering(or figure out how to use an electric p/s pump from the s2000 or 2002 si) then we might just be able to squeeze a centrifical charger under our tiny lil' hoods , boy that would be super! (LOL)
lets all cross our fingers and hope that vortech has a few tricks up their sleeves, otherwise, like i said, its going to be GUDE all the way
and, ill try to find you non-belivers in N/A power some dynos

yeah, internet petitions are SOOOO influential! i've got a better idea:

honda of north america

nawsville, ca 90187
to whom it may concern;
my name is brian hayes. i have a 2001 civic lx and it's really slow. i want a car that's fast so i propose that honda motor company should give me a brand new honda s2000 (silver is preferred color). in return, i (brian d. hayes) will continue to believe that honda is a good company and i will remain loyal to the automaker by considering another honda purchase in the future. i have attached the signatures of individuals that support my proposal and believe accepting this agreement would be in the best interests of your company.
sincerly,
brian d. hayes

I don't think the space limitation is what's preventing Jackson Racing from making an EM supercharger. The RSX has the exact same engine bay as us, and JR will have a SC out for the Type S in a few months. I think they just don't see a big enough market (that's where your e-mails and letters will help) and they don't want to mess around with the ULEV stuff.
As for the Gude package, a big factor that needs to be accounted for is how to get more fuel to the engine. Horsepower basically equates to pushing more air and more fuel into the engine. If the Gude head is able to get that much more air (extra 40 whp??) to the engine, you have to be able to compensate by adding more fuel. Otherwise you're going to run extremely lean and will be detonating all over the place. In fact, one of the reasons that ImportBuilders refuses to install extra high-compression JDM RSX Type R pistons into the Type S engine (even though I can get them for pretty cheaply) is because of detonation concerns; there is no currently no established way to add more fuel with the new Civic / RSX platform. Having no return system means so you have to use 100% engine management to get the extra fuel in there. I'm really interested in seeing what kinds of solution Gude is using to solve this.

There is already a thread about the HKS turbo on HKS's web site. Just go to www.hksusa.com, click on Forums, and it's under New Products or something like that. Post your opinions there and they will be heard/read.

I asked the neuspeed rep if they were going to make one and they said no because they figured Jackson would beat them to it. I told him that they won't make one for our car. I dunno man, I would rather have a supercharger too, but...we will have to wait and see.
Htown,
Dude read the new sport compact. Greddy has made what they are calling a piggyback ecu for the RSX-s. It looks similar the AEM EMS concept except with an extra ecu. Just read the article. The RSX-s was a prototype but it was putting like over 230 hp to the wheels. Greddy has got it figured out, they just are not sharing.
But yea, I wanted to send like 1000 letters saying hey, we are very interested in turbo kits. But I guess nobody is up for it.

fvck petitions, you guys wanna get somethin done? put together an actual PROPOSAL involving MONEY. petitions, haha, they're gonna those letters and chuck em, they dont give a damn
but money talks... put together a proposal and send it to a manufacturer, like "if we get together this many people to put down this much money on a turbo kit promising this much horsepower by this time, will you make one?" a legitimate deal like that will get manufacturers working, but some letter written by 200 jacka$$es yappin about "how much i would like your turbo" aint gonna do much

kion is 100% right on the money... yeah, we'd ALL love turbos -- they KNOW that already. the question is how many are willing to BUY the equipment, not "hey, who's interested?". if you wanna be heard, show 'em the money -- $500-$1000 deposits, serious people only.
