wanting advice on 2007 civic ex w/ vtech-i4 engine ?

basically just wanting to know if there will be high-dollar mechanical night-mares for this model ?

never owned vtech nor auto-5sp . . . been a "clutch" kind of guy up to now.

thing is . . . am wanting to replace the 2002 civic i owned for nine years . . . the 2007 model above is being offered.

auto-5sp . . . vtech-i4 engine . . . includes something called multi-point fuel injection.

can i put 200k miles on the car . . . only changing oil ? or will i be driving into service bays every 10k ?

thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge 'n experience.

My cousin had a manual 06 or 07 coupe and he never had any problems, and i know ppl who have auto 8th gen civics and they seem to be holding just fine...Personally i think the 8th gen civic is better designed than its previous generation (01-05) the suspension is smoother and there is far less auto transmission failures. Also the newer generation have more power and are quieter inside....Have you test driven the car yet? it is noticably different

Slow. My mom had one, my 04 EX feels quicker. Very loud inside. Never had problems with it. Just doesn't feel like a civic.

klein1121 . . . even you are new member, i really appreciate your interaction . . . gives me cause to re-think and adjust my priorities.

"just doesn't feel like a civic" . . . that is major trauma, far as i'm concerned. i been loyal with honda since 1983 . . . almost 30 years . . . and if a member so much as implies 'alienation' . . . i quickly withdraw.

fact of the matter is . . . i decided, early this morning, to let the deal fly away. matter of $13,500 cash . . . just didn't feel comfortable with me anymore.

mebbe' i am becoming a wimp . . . god help me. there is always tomorrow . . . and i will keep both responses insight.

thanks, klein1121 'n wallydude03 . . . god speed to both of you.
