No more drunk driving? Possibly
Re: No more drunk driving? Possibly
its nice to see an auto maker putting technology into practice though...there are bugs for sure, and not all of its practical but its the idea that they want to do all they can to make sure you don't have to go to a funeral home because of stupidity...

Re: No more drunk driving? Possibly
hahahaha this made me laugh
but if you're drunk and you pull over and take a nap you can still get a DUI from a cop seeing you passed out in your car hahaha
have some rep Pitch for a good little find!
But Nissan's car includes a mounted camera that monitors alertness by eye scan, ringing bells and issuing a voice message in Japanese or English if a driver should pull over and rest.

Perhaps but at least if you do pull over, you could be prolonging your life and someone else's as well. whats a ticket compare to someones life right?

In south korea, you can call a company to drive your car home. They'll send a car out to your location. One driver will drive your car with you as the passenger, while the other driver in the company car follows. The designated drivers are also insured through their company and the price is very good. There are so many check points in korea that it is a big business due to this.

As far as the OP, that has a huge potential to be abused. Give it another couple years, and your car will be calling the police on you.
Re: No more drunk driving? Possibly
if thats the case, i doubt it'll even need to call the police, probably just send your information to the dmv or whatever, and print out the ticket for you and hand it to you lol

Re: No more drunk driving? Possibly
I dont like the idea of not being able to drive my car. But I wouldnt worry, someone will figure out a mod on how to disable it, or raise the tolerance levels
Re: No more drunk driving? Possibly
I don't like the idea of cars getting too sophisticated and technology like this coming into play. On the flip side, too many people try to get off of the hook for drinking and driving, as though it is my fault for not leaving them alone as they weave their way home. Technology cannot take the stupid out of a stupid person. In a perfect world that person would call a friend or drink less, problem solved.
