Title says it all really. Will the 1.7 fit in my dad's grand caravan if i took out the backseats. I'll admit is not tooooo often I see an engine outside of an engine bay, so I'm having a hard time visualizing how big it is. And on that note, what about the auto tranny. You think it would fit at the same time, or is that two trips?

when i first saw the title..i thought someone was going to swap a d17 into a van lmao.

im sure it might fit. i doubt with the tranny it will though... well maybe...i duno. i honestly dont know now that i think about it...sorry. the d17 isnt that big of an engine.if u have the motor and the van close to each other, take sum measurements

First off is the engine complete or separate? Are you buying from a private seller or a company? Usually with a company you get the little square wooden engine stand. Either way, you shouldn't have a problem with the engine as long as you have an engine hoist to put it in and get it out. If the tranny isn't attached you should be able to get it in also (doesn't weigh that much).
Another thing...is it just you or do you have help? Depending on your size it will take 2-3 ppl. Good luck.

you'll be fine putting the d17 and tranny in there i'd think. it shouldn't take more than two people to lift it up there. make sure it's drained so it's lighter, and everything is plugged so you don't spill stuff all over the van! or maybe you could just lay down a big sheet of plastic or a tarp.

I put it in the back of a Subaru Outback to bring it home, then into the back of a GTi to get it to the shop... so I'm fairly sure it'll fit in a big *** van. It isnt a Duramax.

if you care about the van, don't do it. If you don't care and its just a beater, do it. I put it in my dad's SUV and some fluid leaked and f'd up the carpet. It also scratched the plastic trimming on the floor. My dad got pretty pissed off and I felt pretty bad.

yes it'll fit... i fit a D15 in the back of a toyota sienna no problem... i don't think a D17 is that much bigger
