i was wondering how you work underneath your car if you have a body kit on? there is obviously very little room to slide a hydraulic jack underneath. i was wondering this cuz i was thinking about getting a kit, but i do most of my engine tuning, installation, and maintenance (i.e. oil changes, spark plug changes, belt changes, etc...) and i don't want to have to take it to the dealer or a local shop when i can do it myself. thanks for input ppls.

My car is slammed pretty low (my front 2 jack supports are about 3 to 4" from the ground), and there is no way a hydraulic jack or anything else besides a hand-operated jack can fit underneath it. The lowest clearance hydraulic jack I've seen has a clearance of 5.5", so here is what I usually do:
Get a pair of thick wooden boards that are about 2" thick and wide enough so that your tires can fit over them easily. Just drive up on the boards and hopefully that will make your car high enough so that a hydraulic jack can fit undernath.
OR here is what I do for oil changes:
Get a pair of low-angle ramps (designed for low clearance vehicles) and drive your car up the ramps. It's easy, simple, and you don't have to mess with any jacks or jack stands. The ramps I use are made by Rhino/Blitz and have a 17-degree incline designed for lowered vehicles. Problem is - my car is STILL too low to go up these ramps by itself. So I just place the wooden boards at the base of the ramps to help the car get up on the ramps [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]. The Rhino/Blitz ramps are pretty inexpensive - I got mine for $30 at Wal Mart.
