Too ugly? No way.. i think it's just something you haven't gotten used to. When i first
got my 4dr Civic DX, i thought it was fugly too, but now i've begun to grow on it.
I know when i trade up my civic for the SI i'll start liking it. The engine has so much potential
and at 160 HPS it already kicks hard ***!

Any car can be called FUGLY when compared to it's modified counterpart. The Si will look HOT when it's aftermarket parts blow up. Still, I'd rather have the RSX Type-S. It's just a hotter car.

Im pretty sure if the type R doesnt come out in the US the im sure th ekit will for the si. Now the Si would look hott with a type r kit. right now its alright but through some rims and wait for that type r kit it will look hott. Anyway it seems like if your not happy with your civic now(performance wise i mean) then why care abou tthe looks. Our cars i will admit our beautiful and we could make em even better lookin but perfromance wise not good. id rather performance thats why i owuld rather the new si

I for one have seen it and and sat it in it person. At that time I didn't like it that much, but know I'm beginning to like it a lot. The bad thing about these internet forums is that you start listening to other people's opinions and adopt them instead of really thinking about it yourself.
I for one like the Si and would gladly buy it and drive it. I don't want a RSX because it's cheap on the interior and there are too many RSX's.
To all of you who think you might want an Si (and can afford it) stop listening to people's opinions on this forum and go test drive it and look at it yourself.

Well my buddy has a 99 SI and its nice, but still love my car over his. Now I have seen the RSX-S and I love the car, looking at the SI for the money and the engine its not any better than the old SI's at least they could have put more power into it. The only hatchbacks I have liked was my old 88 Honda Civic DX Hatchback, after that all hatchbacks were ugly I was glad when they got rid of them, now its back in the SI which won't be attracting my vote for liking them, if it was a coupe definately would have my vote. After mark up on the NEW SI I have no clue what it is haven't seen one on a floor yet, but I would just save up a little longer and get the RSX -S I would like the 6 speed also, its Acura and top of the line in the Honda line up. Buy it if you want but I will stick with my civic. I will give honda credit though for bring the SI back but not worth the money and time for the new SI.

Nick

i haven't seen one in person yet or had the privledge to drive one but i'm not too sure on how to think about the stick shidt on the dash, moving it there makes the cockpit look empty, in a way.

Can you Say FORD FOCUS wanna be.
That is what the New 2002 Honda SI looks like.
I test drove one around town and was heading back to the dealer when a Ford Focus the (hatchback version) drove next to me, I looked over and there it was the SI body style on the focus.
Why couldn't Honda change back to the 6th gen Hatchback or use the coupe body style??

Great power and potential for aftermarket parts.
So if anyone gets the SI, good for them, but IMO its just a Ford Focus with an SVT motor in it.
