Has anyone raced the new V6 Tiburon? Last weekend on the way to Houston I saw one of these. It was about 9:00 at night and I was chillin with two of my buds followin me in their cars, when out of nowhere I saw a red flash fly by me. It was pretty damn quick. This guy was doing 130mph easy. lol As I was catching up to him, I was trying to figure out what the hell kinda car it was. Then when I got closer, I saw Tiburon GT T on the back. He had to slow down for a bit because there was a slower car in front of him, but as soon as that car moved, that dude was gone. He left my *** in the dust. I got it up to 110 and I still wasn't catchin him, so I just gave up. 181hp is alot, but I think that guy was sprayin' or something to leave me that quick. He was even givin my boy with the turbo'd civic a run for his money! I was wondering if anyone has raced the V6 and how did they do?

My neighbor got one last weekend. It sucks!!!! Just think about it though....Honda has 4 cyl. cars with 240hp (S2000) and they need a V6 to reach 180. That is pathetic!!! My neighbor took me for a spin and I was very unimpressed. Besides who is gonna make aftermarket stuff for that piece of sh#t???[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-puke.gif[/IMG]

How much does an S2000 cost again [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG].. can't compare the horsepower there skippy. Also the Tib has yes.. More torque than an S2000 [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG].. It's designed as a performance economy car.. and it fills it's is place damn well. It's not a race car.. not designed to be. Also..there will be some aftermarket support for this car. They have recently begun making parts for older model tibs and with this new higher horsepower car there's more parts to come.....

I don't plan on buying one. but for those who have em/want them all the power. I'll keep my slow granny car.

the tiburon's stock engine blows, but the engine compartment is large enough to stick in a good sized v6 or small v8, my friend stuck a large v6 in his and its much faster now. so maybe thats what the guy did. the only prob is it still sucks *** as a dragger because of something in the makeup of the car, but if its already movin its got some zip.

nrom tibs suck in drag yes.... but I forget what mag.. will post mag latter.. but those dual engine suped up tibs.. can run 0-60 in 3 sec somethin.. I know I know.. will give proof tom.. or recant

Ok Im korean and my dad loves Hyundai so I kno a lot about em, heres the bottom line on them.
GT spec V6
181hp DOHC
6-speed is an option package along wit some accessories u dont need. 4-speed auto, 5 speed manual is base.
A new Santa Fe owner drove his new car for 16 miles and then his fourth cylinder cracked. Ouch.
I test drove the inline four 1.8L 5 speed, 140hp DOHC.
THE DEAL IS THIS:
the old tib had almost the same exact engine as the integra LG,GS (1.8L DOHC non-vtec, 140hp, 4 wheel disc 15 inch rims)
The tib is a lil lighter than the Integra tho.
have I seen both cars stock race? YES, both auto and nuttin done to their rides:
Who WON? the Integra blew him out.
Did the TIburon change much in a year puttin out a v6 and 181hp...prolly yeah, can it compete vs a Celica GT-S who has 180hp vvtl-i? -NO CHANCE-

My opinion is that it looks nice and Hyundai is the lil import wanna-be-bitchut I dont see this as the new civic replacment anytime soon.

i saw a yellow tiburon near daytona beach with altezzas and a body kit. i've seen indiglo gauges, intakes, and exhaust kits for hyundais online... if they make accessories for CAVALIERS, the other cars can't be far behind.

The Styling is pretty sweet...But as far as performance goes it's not a sports car..it a sport economy car [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]... Out civics are plain out "Economy Cars"..Integra's are sport compacts... the Tibby don't claim they're gonna win races or make U fly.. iy's just a sporty relatively inexpensive car for those who want the look and feel(relative feel) of a real sportscar but can't afford one.. Also I used to own a 2001 Elantra VE...I Smoked an SiR (unmodded) by a car length and a half...(maybe bad driver) Burned civics easy... ran mid 15's at the track...was good..Before that My father and I had a 1992 Hyundai Sonata GL (4-banger with Mits 2.0: engine from a regulr Eclipse) Car lasted 9 years.. went through 4 transmissions..but never any engine probs..never any other probs... The Stellar and the Pony brought Hyundais rep WAY down.. and their newer cars are getting up there in quality...but people still rag them out...

An incident like that Santa Fe.. 1 incident.. look at the 99 BMW 5 series that were catching fire because of a faulty relay... it happens..[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG].. Look at honda's read in the Vehicle issues forums.. LOTTA problems..
