I would definately talk to you insurance company. Most of the time you can get the shop to pay since it was in THEIR POSSESSION and they didn't have suffecient security. Although most shops will have a sign or make you sign something stating "we are not responsible for damage to vehicles" But you gotta wonder, if they cut a fence to get in there it leads me to believe that (A It was someone that you personally know or (B it was someone at the shop or one of their friends. It obviously wasn't somebody out just looking through windows. There are too many cars to take chances like breaking into fenced in shops. Just curiosity.. how do you plan on taking the money you get from the insurance company and buying a $1,500 head unit? Most of the time (unless you purchase additional insurance) they don't pay you replacement cost and only FMV (fair market value) basically what it is currenlty worth. Just another suggestion, although I'm sure you have thought of this. Take some of that money and invest in alarm and have them install a few additional sirens. Yah, yah.. alarms only make noise and you here them everywhere. But how many times have you heard an alarm go off and not at least look? Think from a thiefs point of view. You break this car window to steal a stereo, are you gonna stick around a listen to a siren.. NOPE. Anyway.. sorry to ramble and sorry to hear about your car. That always sucks.

instead of a 7" lcd screen invest in bullet proof lucite windows. and a really loud alarm with 3 dozen shock sensors.

ouch! just hearing about that hurts and worries me! But thats great that your insurance will cover the theft. How exactly do you get them to cover things like that? Do you just walk in and hand them reciepts of your kit, rims, interior, system, exhaust,...ect.? If thats rite, I gotta get whatever I buy next covered!

f$#@ your insurance. the shops insurance should take care of that. they are held personally responsible for your equipment while it is in their care..

Inside job!! It's not like someone was walking by and looked in to see if you had a nice stereo. They must have known. You should tell the shop guys this and get them scared.
