I'd think about that a little more, my x-girlfriend had one and it was a pile of poo. I know the new ones look pretty good but Hundai has a long way to go on quality.

i agree...i like the look of the new tibby, but i wouldnt trade in my civic!! Huyndai has no reliability!! not to mention the engine bay is like all plastic!!!!!!
but if you want too, then go for it!!

Go for it....SCC mag says it should be really good and i say its really good....
I like the older 1gen tiburons...like the f2 which never came in US
or that F2 rally tiburon natural aspirated 260hp and those Turbocharged AWd tiburons in SCCA rallys.
I just wish they came out wid a i4 turbo awd...tibby or accent..that would suprise alot of people muahahahha

I saw one the other day (didn't know they were out already) and it looked so nice. I give it
on looks. The engine is a, I think, 2.7L V6 w/ 181 hp and a 6-spd...that gets
...only thing that would make me wary about it would be the fact that its a Hyundai
...They are comin' around though.
I would totally buy the Tiberon. I took one out for a spin as well he let me tear the thing up it was fun. I am debating between buying that and the Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V. I think im going to get the spec v. As far as Hyundai's reliability they are trying to regain people confidence. They lost it way back when when they had mitsubishi build their engines. Mitsu built the plastic engine that had all the problems. Hyundai now uilds their own cars and they seem to be pretty reliable. Plus you can go wrong with the warrenty and the price. For the V6 Tiberon you'll be forking over like 21,000 but for a V6 not to bad. Go for it tha's my 2 cents.
riceburner thats jokes. why? hyundai is totally crap. hate to say it. regardless on how u view it. honda is still better it takes a v6 to get 200 HP? i dunno how much they push but its still not enough to make me do this
on a v6!!!
on a v6!!! Here's a four step plan for future Hyundai owners:
1. Lease the sheitbox.
2. Get a loud sound system so you can blame the rattles on your thumpin' subs
3. Beat on it like a red headed step-child and dispose promptly
4. Buy a 10 year old Honda so you have something reliable to drive while your new
car is in the shop.

<buyer> "Hi i'd like to trade this honda for one of your hyundais"
<dealer> " good one kid, i needed the laugh... now run along I have some idiots to sell to"

I think the jury is still out on Hyundai's reliability. Sure, it has stunk in the past. I'll have to wait a few years before I'm convinced that that 10 year warranty will actually hold up or if it's just a marketing ploy, but but Hyundai has come a long, long way in the past 15 years or so. I remember when my older sister bought a Hyundai Excel Sport GTS in the late 80's. That thing had a 4-speed manual transmission and was basically a lawnmower engine with a car body around it
hyundais are aight to me. they start when u put the key in and they stop when u put your foot on the brake. plus they have more power and gears than our civics. some of you need to put the crack down.

I use to think like most of you but for the past few years you would be surprised at how much better hyundias quality has gotten. I have a few friends that own Sonatas, elantras, and the new Santa fe. Oh an my other friend has a 2002 Tibby...not the new one though. I didnt know that you actually have to pay extra for the 10 year warranty though. I still don't know about trading in my civic for one though. If you are going to get rid of your civic, you should sell it privately. I still think there are alot better performing cars out there with better reliability for that money that you are going to spend on a tibby. For that price or less you could get a sentra ser vspec with 175hp and 175lbs of torque with a 6 speed tranny. The sentra will take the tibby in loooks, reliability, and performance...and even gas mileage. For the same price of a tibby you could get a base model rsx....with the OEM body kit and a 5 speed. That car has better performance and handling and wont be hard to modify. Im sure that there really isnt many performance parts available for the tibby yet and who knows what will be available for it. Not many people buy tibbys to modify. You would have more luck buying an Ser or RSx....or even a subaru 2.5rs at that price...and with the subaru you get AWD...DFo some research before you drop $21,000 on a tibby...Just think of how much that car will be worth in 2 years....Your civic will still be worth a good amount, because Honda keeps there value. Huyndias do not.
OK FOLKS, time ONCE AGAIN to set EVERYONE STRAIGHT about Hyundai in ANOTHER THREAD similar to a bunch i have commented in.
First of all, earlier in the thread, someone was talking about the AWD Hyundai Rally cars...
And to that, I say: BULLSH*T. The Hyundai rally cars have a MITSUBISHI ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN. The only thing Hyundai about a Hyundai rally car is the body panels.
Secondly, A modded civic would beat the CRAP out of a 2003 Tiburon. The 03 Tibby only gets 148HP at the wheels, and it only does the quarter mile in 15.6 seconds @88mph. AS MEASURED BY SPORT COMPACT CAR, April 2002 Edition, page 75.
A modded 7th Gen Civic would EAT a 03 Tib hands down with TWO LESS cylinders and ONE LESS GEAR.
FYI: The Tib's engine is the same one in the Santa Fe, which locks up at 70mph and causes near fatal wrecks.

Say...didn't the Hyundai something or other catch on fire...Yeh, the Santa Fe...that was some crazy sh it.....they would catch on fire
after being driven like 1000 miles or something...Hmmmmm....V6...Hmmmm 180....say it to yourself a couple of times, and you'll get it !!
