Need advice!

This morning I was a few minutes late to leave for shool. So I'm stoped at a stop light and I feel my car jump forward a little. I look in my rear-veiw mirror and this lady's car is right is right behind my car. So I drive my car up a foot or two. I've never been an in accident before, so I don't know how they feel or anything. But I get out of my car anyways just to make sure that my rear bumper isn't jacked up and the lady just looks at me as if nothing happened and just drinks her coffee. I looked and no apparent damage. But as I get on the freeway I follow her and write her license plate number down just incase there is some damage. Well I get to school and it was bugging the he11 out of me. I decided to really enspect my bumper even though I was going to be late to class. And yup there it is the bolt that holds her front license plate on, scrached a semi-cirlce into my bumper. The scrach dug down past the paint. What should I do? Call the cops and report it or what?? I can't stand the scrach even though it is small. Will a scrach through the paint cause my paint to get all messed up?? Help! Thanks in advance for your reasponses!

You can either contact your insurance company and tell them what happened and give them her tag number or you can contact your local police agency and give them her tag and they can run it and get her info and you get the rest....

depends how much your deductable for your insurance is. even if you call the cops. it kind of your word against her's. and if it is concidered to be a moving violation she could say it wasn't her driving. plus if your insurance deductable is like $500, wouldn't it be cheaper to just get some touch up pain and fix it. this is just my $0.02

Yea you whould figure that she would have gotten out of her car just to make sure her car was ok but nothing she didn't even look at me! She just acted like nothing had even happened. That is one of my concerns! Like SpeedRacer said your word against her's and she an older lady and I'm an 18 year old so they would probably take her word if I called the police! Man on the way home I was parranoied that it was going to happen again! Just can't stand having my baby hurt!

Same thing happened to me. Biatch digging in her purse and foot slipped off the brake. I called the cops though cause I insisted on a report incase of damages. After it happened I only noticed a small scratch in the clear coat which came out with wax. Guess Im just lucky. Go down to the insurance office and see what they say. If it were me and the scratch wouldent have come out I would be getting it repainted. Just my 2 cents....
