My HX... how much more HP?
Hi Everyone!
I'm at that point where I want to get some more performance out of my 2001 HX. I'm at the beginning of this project, so I'm asking the experts (you guys & gals) what would be the best way to go about it without having to replace the engine, and/or the drivetrain.
What could I do to it to give it more power? Is that even possible since it's an HX? And how much more power could I ever expect to get out of a 117 hp engine? My trusty little economy car is all paid off, and I'd like to throw some kind of love at it in exchange for some more horses, and not diving into another new car purchase (one guess what that would be!). Thoughts... anyone?
Thanks!

Haha...Sell the civic and buy something with horsepower. Only way to get any horsepower out of the d17 is to swap ($8,000 low end), boost ($3,000 low end), or fully built (over $10,000 not worth the gains). So seriously either sell it and buy something different or just don't worry about speed in it. CAI, header, and exhaust add maybe 1 or 2 horsepower.
I would recommend suspension work, and rims/drop/lip kit.
