got a 55 in a 40. cop told me he had to fill quota. how bout that $hit? i fought it and got a $100 parking fine
KoNkReTeNj: I got a ticket for the same thing. I turned right at a red light. I had a huge opening, with no traffic whatsoever in my way, so I turned. Then, all of a sudden, a cop came flying through the intersection going at least 55Mph. The speed limit is 30 through that intersection. He didn't have his lights or his siren on. He had the nerve to pull me over and say I cut him off. What's funny is that another cop was behind him a little bit, doing the same speed as the first one. He had to hit his brakes to keep from hitting me, because he was speeding too. He didn't have his lights or siren on, either. That guy was a real *****...but it's all good, 'cause my mom told him that I hadn't had my license very long, and that I didn't know any better. We both know that he would have been at fault, had he hit me, but we let him think he was right. Anyway, I got out of it. Another funny thing about it, though, is that the ticket had no fine listed on it, but it did have a court date. I thought that was kinda weird.
Well not all cops are bad but I have got pulled over a few times in 5 yrs driving, i'll list them real quickly. First one was for driving around in the city with my parking lights on LOL. Just got checked out by the officer. Then the worst one came up next I had my girl in the car and I just picked her up and we were going to dinner. I get to the light I see a cop behind me, so I creep a little hit my blinker and then next thing I know I am getting pulled over. It was a female cop then next thing I know after a long wait she comes back and gives me a lecture on how I am endangering my Girls life and all this stuff. Then writes me up a $125 ticket for failure to use left blinker. I couldn't believe it so I go to court plead no contempt and get a letter prepared with a receipt from a auto place that I had a misblinking blinker which I did have, to present and the judge let me off with a warning which it should have been. Benton County Sheriff's in Corvallis, Oregon cops they are bad news. Then got pulled over in Phoenix, AZ by an unmarked Maricopa Sheriff for my clear taillights I had on that time which were legal and illegal. Got a talk by him in the middle of the morning commute on the 51 highway. No ticket. Then when I bought my new civic I was going through N. California and get pulled over by the ghetoist police car I have ever seen, it had a red spotlight that was it. LOL I thought it was some nut out in the middle of no where trying to steal my new car, which I have heard from stories from people with look a like cop cars. But he pulled me over for 70 in a 55 I didn't see one speed limit sign, so he let me off with a warning. I told him I was lost and stuff which I was and he gave me directions. Then recently was over a charcoal plate cover I had over my plate so I was still pist over that one, then we sort of chatted about my anti-Photo plate cover that I had on and how much they ran price wise. So he let me off with a warning and stuff and a fix it order with it. He could have given me a ticket for tint but he didn't. He was kinda cool think he wanted to check me out and see my ride LOL.
Well its not fun having a nice ride in some situations,

Hey quicksilvr. want to give me your opinion on something? Alright, I was driving along one thursday night at 11pm, A cop comes up behind me and follows me for about 6 blocks, I was in the left hand lane, so i move into the right lane, he goes past me, slows down, then pulls me over. Turns out i had a burnt out headlight, but it honestly just burnt out! Here's what i don't mind. i was missing my drivers side mirror (I had recently been in an accident), and had minor front end damage, but nothing at all serious, under 1k total. He gave me a ticket for the side mirror, and for my tint (which is barely there 35% or something, dealer installed it as the car was a demo). He asked me when i got the tint, I said it came with the car... "No it didn't" which ticked me off, because it actually did.
Next, he decided to impound my car because it was un road worthy, then he called my mother (I'm only 17), got her all worked up that my life was in shambles (I really got in a lot of $hit for nothing over this), and took my license plate, until i could prove to him it was road worthy. I payed $200 to have the car towed to impound and back to my house. Then I screwed my mirror on, took off my bumper cover, and photographed that the actual bumper was intact. and tried to get a hold of him. after exactly 1 month, i found out when his next shift was, and went and waited at the cop shop to get my plate back. The whole time I'd been driving a 1984 Plymouth K-Car instead of my civic, which believe me, is much less road worthy, despite legallities.
What do you think of this? was that a cop being overly **** because i'm young and in a nice car? cost me a lot of money, for absolutely nothing.

My first speeding ticket I ever got was going about 95 in a 50, all I got was a $150 fine. I've had 7 tickets to date, but have only had 1 in the last 2 years. None of them ever went on my record. I have a 20% tint, never been touched on that either. I'm either pressing my luck or I am blessed that I live in GA, where officers generally don't care.

i got some, but no biggies... jus a couple of fix-it tickets... i got 1 for having red l.e.d. on my winshield wiper, the sucky thing is that i was going home to wire them to a switch.... the other one, the cop said i was racing with this hatchback, which i guess i was, but i said i was just getting out of his way because he was tailing me he believed me and gave me a warning and i guess he gave the hatchback a ticket... but i did admit that i was going about 50 and he jus warned me for going 50 in a 35... he said it was his b-day and he felt good cuz i admitted that i was going fast... so he jus gave me a fix-it for my front license plate and no proof of valid insurance, although it was in my wallet, i was just too nervous to find it...
and another time i got warned for my speed while taking my girlfriend to school in the morning ... well i guess i'm really lucky... those are my three run-ins with the popo
and another time i got warned for my speed while taking my girlfriend to school in the morning ... well i guess i'm really lucky... those are my three run-ins with the popo NiteHawk...a few things...first, you were probably followed by the officer while he conducted a registration check on the computer or through his headquarters on the radio. You would think with computers that you have instant access to that type of stuff, but it doesn't really work that way. More often than not, it takes a while for the information to come back on the screen...often, I have to manually radio my headquarters information and have them look it up for me because my laptop is just too slow. I'm not sure why he went ahead of you like that--I do that to see if a person has their front plate (required in New York State), and proper registration and inspection stickers on the window. I also take note of working headlights...which is probably what he saw and then stopped you. As for the headlight ticket, that is usually dismissable as soon as you can document it was fixed...the tint ticket...I wrote one of those last week to a nasty person, but I leave that alone unless the windows are close to black...35% wouldn't have gotten one from me. As for the impound, thats absurd...I only impound when the driver is operating without a proper license, vehice is unregistered/uninsured, if I have to arrest the driver, etc. While the officer reserved the right to impound by what you described, it is not done and would not be done by me.
QCKSLVR: would you pull somebody over if they had 20% tint? I'm just wondering, 'cause I'm getting 20% soon. Most people around here with tinted windows have 20%, but I've seen it as dark as 10%, and the cops don't say anything. I'm just wondering what you would do.

who agrees that police should only be able to give out tickets to drivers who are driving wrecklessly such as more than 30 miles over the speed limit or in certain restricted zones and they leave all of us young people alone because our tints are to dark or we have lights on or under our car ....why dnt they do something useful such as wait outside bars and icket the people driving home drunk or arresting drug dealers and stop wasting my time and money....im young and i wanna waste my money on my car not on tickets because some fat@$$ pig had to reach his quota

Hmm...I agree with you on that...except for calling cops pigs...I do it every now and then, just kidding around, but I have three cops in my family. Also, my dad, before his death 14 years ago, was an MP in the Navy.

Trust me, I understand!! You know...I can get that way sometimes. More with individual people, though, than whole groups. Like my Uncle Fred, for instance. He's always wanting me to help him with problems with his stereo, he wants me to take him to work a lot (even though he has a perfectly good Trans Am), and he always wants to borrow my $hit. Just the other day, he said something that kinda p!ssed me off. He works for Wal-Mart, and had just gotten an employee-only deal on some in-car MP3 players. Since they were being discontinued in favor of newer models, he got 'em for $50 each. Well, I was thinking about buying one from him as a gift for my cousin. Well, I was thinking about offering him $75 so he would get a little bit of a profit. Well, he called me the other day, not knowing that I wanted one, and said "Hey Rob, I just got some of those M3 (he never says MP3) players from the Wal-Mart. I tell ya what, if you want one, I'll make you a really good deal. I'll sell you one for $125." I decided right then that I didn't want to buy one, and since I had just ordered the JVC KDLX-300 that day, I told him that I wanted to buy a good quality CD player...something with three pre-outs and lots of options. Well, he said "But these are really good quality. They're the best ones you can get. They're...umm...let me see...Extreme Sound, yeah, Extreme Sound." I was almost laughing at him. Haha. He tried to tell me that they originally went for $300. Well, I know better, because I saw some exactly like the ones he had, at another Wal-Mart, for $120 brand new. Anyway, this guy is really starting to make me mad. If he wasn't family, I would have told him to go to hell several months ago.
